- • Lead and mentor a team of engineers focused on marketing technology, driving the development of systems that power member acquisition, engagement, and retention for Dave’s financial platform.
- • Partner with Product and Marketing stakeholders to define roadmap priorities, technical direction, and execution plans for lifecycle campaigns, personalized messaging, and experimentation initiatives.
- • Guide the development of scalable, low-latency systems that support campaign automation, A/B testing, and real-time communication with millions of members.
- • Collaborate with Lead and Staff Engineers to make architecture decisions, establish engineering standards, and prioritize technical debt reduction to ensure platform sustainability.
- • Improve the performance, reliability, and SEO discoverability of Dave’s marketing website, including implementing AI-driven SEO strategies to adapt to evolving search algorithms.
- • Create a high-trust engineering environment where team members receive actionable feedback, grow their careers, and deliver high-quality work with autonomy.
- • Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term platform health by making thoughtful trade-offs that align with business goals and member experience outcomes.
- • Remove operational blockers, streamline team processes, and strengthen cross-functional collaboration between Engineering, Product, and Marketing teams.
- • Contribute technically through code reviews, architectural guidance, and hands-on problem solving when needed to unblock progress or uphold quality standards.
- • Use metrics and operational insights to inform decisions around product quality, engineering health, and system reliability across marketing technology initiatives.
- • Shape technical strategy and team culture in a fast-growing fintech environment where priorities evolve based on data, member behavior, and experimental results.
- • Build systems that directly influence how millions of Americans discover, understand, and engage with Dave’s financial products, including its flagship ExtraCash offering and upcoming BNPL product.
- • Foster a culture of shared accountability, transparent communication, and sustainable execution — prioritizing long-term system integrity over short-term heroics.
- • Operate with high autonomy in a virtual-first environment, influencing strategy while working closely with senior leaders across Engineering, Product, and Marketing.
🎯 Requirements
- • 6+ years of software engineering experience
- • 1.5+ years of engineering management experience
- • Experience building highly available, scalable, and low-latency systems
- • Strong technical judgment and ability to guide architecture discussions across larger initiatives
- • Experience hiring, developing, and supporting high-performing engineering teams
- • Ability to engage in both technical and business discussions with cross-functional stakeholders
