- • As a Senior Software Engineer on the Borrower Experience team at Upstart, you will design and deliver borrower-facing features across web, mobile, and AI-powered channels to improve self-service outcomes and payment success, directly supporting the mission to reduce the cost and complexity of borrowing for all Americans.
- • Day to day, you will translate servicing workflows into intuitive, scalable product experiences, build and maintain full-stack systems integrating backend services with modern frontend frameworks, drive experimentation through A/B testing and analytics, and partner with Product, Design, Analytics, and Engineering to deliver high-quality solutions while contributing to architectural decisions that unify systems into a cohesive borrower experience.
- • You will join Upstart’s Borrower Experience (BX) team, which is responsible for building and evolving the borrower-facing servicing experience across web, mobile, and AI-powered channels, focusing on reducing borrower friction, improving payment success, and enabling clear, self-serve paths for borrowers post-origination.
- • In this role, you will lead the design and development of scalable, high-impact solutions that empower borrowers to understand their options and take the right actions, while shaping a trusted servicing experience and advancing your expertise in full-stack engineering, AI-powered systems, and fintech product development within a mission-driven, digital-first culture.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Mathematics, or a related field (or its equivalent) + 4 years of experience
- • 4+ years of professional software engineering experience building scalable web and/or mobile applications
- • Proficiency in one or more programming languages and modern development frameworks
- • Experience designing and building APIs, microservices, and distributed systems in a cloud environment
- • Experience leading projects spanning multiple engineers or systems
