- • As a pivotal leader within Campbell's esteemed Enterprise Food Safety & Quality team, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing the company's global sanitation strategy. This role demands a visionary approach to developing and implementing comprehensive sanitation programs, policies, and objectives that ensure the highest standards of food safety and operational excellence across Campbell's extensive internal and external manufacturing network.
- • You will serve as the foremost technical authority, providing deep expertise in product safety, hygienic design, sanitation, and pest management. Your insights will guide the assessment and compliance of sanitation practices, driving continuous improvement and fostering uniformity of practice across all business units.
- • This leadership position involves managing the Corporate Sanitation team, setting priorities, and mentoring Plant Sanitarians to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of sanitation operations. You will cultivate a culture of excellence, ensuring that sanitation protocols are not just met, but exceeded, safeguarding the integrity of Campbell's trusted brands.
- • A key aspect of this role is fostering strong collaborative relationships with various functional groups, including Operations, Quality, Food Safety - Microbiology, and Engineering. By engaging these departments, you will drive the strategic objectives of the sanitation program, ensuring alignment and integrated execution.
- • You will be at the forefront of crisis management related to sanitation, hygienic design, and pest management, providing expert guidance and leadership during critical situations to mitigate risks and ensure swift, effective resolution.
- • This position requires exceptional communication and influencing skills, as you will engage directly with senior-level Vice Presidents and Directors across the Enterprise, including leaders in Global Engineering, Corporate Procurement, Supply Chain, and Quality. Your ability to articulate complex technical information and drive consensus will be crucial.
- • You will represent Campbell's on the global stage, interfacing with professional associations and regulatory agencies such as the FDA, USDA, OSHA, CDC, and EPA. This engagement is vital for influencing legislation, building strategic networks, identifying best-in-class practices, and ensuring Campbell's remains at the vanguard of food safety and sanitation.
- • Develop and execute a robust Global Sanitation strategy, encompassing all programs and policies for Campbell's manufacturing locations, to achieve best-in-class sanitation and pest elimination solutions.
- • Influence senior leadership (VP and Director level) in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, and Quality regarding advancements and opportunities in sanitation and pest management.
- • Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to lead the interface between regulatory bodies and the industry, influencing legislation, providing guidance on sanitation objectives, and ensuring network-wide compliance.
- • Drive innovation and enhance operational efficiencies by spearheading the implementation of advanced sanitation chemistries and new technologies.
- • Lead and manage the internal and external facility sanitation audit program, developing strategies to bolster the Enterprise Sanitation program's effectiveness and regulatory adherence.
- • Develop and communicate key Sanitation metrics and KPIs to senior leadership, fostering accountability and driving improvements across the manufacturing network.
- • Provide expert coaching, training, and development to team members, building internal capabilities and bench strength to ensure consistent sanitation program compliance.
- • Implement best-in-class sanitation programs by embracing continuous learning, staying current with relevant technologies and regulations, and identifying industry best practices through associations, vendor relationships, seminars, and peer networks.
- • Identify and manage resources to achieve improved operational efficiencies and support the Company's sustainability goals.
- • Provide strategic direction for sanitation resources and programs during acquisitions and divestitures of properties and businesses, ensuring seamless integration and compliance.
- • Maintain 24-hour accountability for the Enterprise Sanitation function, providing expert guidance and direction for high-risk issues impacting the company.
- • Evaluate and verify the accuracy and efficacy of current sanitation and pest control programs and procedures, recommending improvements for all plants in the Campbell's network.
- • Assess and design the optimal organizational structure for the Sanitation function across the network to maximize effectiveness and efficiency.
- • Lead proactive risk management and issue resolution in sanitation, environmental monitoring, and pest control by coordinating internal and external parties.
- • Stay abreast of new technologies and practices in sanitation and pest control through close relationships with vendors, regulatory contacts, and technical publications, communicating and implementing opportunities as needed.
- • Oversee trials and evaluations to identify cost and operational benefits of new technologies or practices, and identify necessary capital investments.
- • Simultaneously prioritize and execute multiple initiatives based on business needs, demonstrating strong project and change management capabilities.
- • Develop and maintain strong rapport with employees at all organizational levels and interface effectively with multiple departments and functions.
- • Develop and implement network-wide training programs to enhance understanding and application of Sanitation principles.
