📋 Description
- • The Epic Instructional Designer I - Front Desk/Scheduling/Registration role supports the educational needs of front desk, scheduling, and registration staff by designing, developing, and delivering training for Epic, the electronic health record system used at Denver Health. This mission-driven position ensures staff are proficient in using Epic through blended learning, e-learning, and classroom instruction, directly impacting operational efficiency and patient care quality.
- • Day to day, the person will create and maintain training curricula, eLearning modules, job aids, and bulletins; deliver classes and presentations; manage project timelines and resources; liaise with end users to understand workflows and provide At The Elbow (ATE) support; track work and documentation; maintain and improve training materials; and complete required Epic uptraining and certification to become a workflow expert for assigned applications.
- • The role is part of the Information Technology department at Denver Health, an integrated academic health care system and Colorado’s primary safety-net provider, known for its mission-driven culture, values of Respect, Belonging, Accountability, and Transparency, and commitment to serving the community through comprehensive health services and workforce development.
- • In this role, the person can learn to become an expert in Epic applications for front desk operations, gain experience in instructional design and adult learning theory within a healthcare IT environment, develop project management and stakeholder collaboration skills, and advance professionally through tuition assistance, coaching, and career pathways offered by Denver Health’s Workforce Development Center.
🎯 Requirements
- • High School Diploma or GED required
- • 1-3 years experience working in adult education (experience in healthcare preferred)
- • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite required
- • Good communication and organizational skills are a requirement
- • Ability to develop strong relationships and collaborate successfully with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and technical and non-technical employees
- • Knowledge of specific healthcare industry Epic (or other EHR) applications preferred
