- • Serve as a technical resource for qualified retirement plan compliance, interpreting ERISA and Department of Labor regulations, policies, and procedures for colleagues and clients.
- • Research and analyze regulatory and compliance topics related to retirement plans, delivering timely findings to senior compliance leadership and internal teams.
- • Review retirement plan amendments for accuracy and potential unintended consequences, collaborating with relationship management and compliance teams to address concerns.
- • Support resolution of operational defects by reviewing correction calculations and authorizing appropriate corrective actions in alignment with regulatory requirements.
- • Assist with pre-acceptance documentation reviews for new retirement plans to ensure compliance with applicable laws and internal standards.
- • Maintain current knowledge of evolving ERISA and Department of Labor compliance laws impacting retirement plan services and communicate updates across teams.
- • Perform compliance testing, including general nondiscrimination testing and average benefit percentage testing, to ensure plan adherence to federal standards.
- • Prepare and present standard compliance reports and assist with filings to the IRS and Department of Labor, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- • Partner with retirement plan, audit, and compliance teams to support risk management initiatives and align plan administration with regulatory obligations.
- • Contribute to sound client outcomes by providing expert guidance on complex eligibility issues, plan corrections, and regulatory interpretations.
- • Ensure all activities comply with enterprise policies, Bank Secrecy Act requirements, and other applicable federal regulations.
- • Report suspicious activity to Financial Intelligence and customer complaints or procedure violations to management or HR as required.
- • Uphold ethical standards by reporting concerns through Associated Bank’s anonymous Ethics Hotline when necessary.
🎯 Requirements
- • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Business, Economics, or Legal
- • 2+ years of ERISA and qualified plans administration experience
- • Knowledge of ERISA and Department of Labor compliance laws and regulations impacting retirement plans
- • Ability to interpret complex regulatory guidance and apply it to plan administration and corrections
- • Strong analytical skills for reviewing plan amendments and conducting compliance testing
- • Experience preparing IRS and Department of Labor filings and compliance reports
