  • • As an Estimator / Quotations Specialist for Ferguson Enterprises, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in the success of our Waterworks projects by meticulously developing accurate and competitive quotations. This remote position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to a Fortune 500 company renowned for its commitment to building better infrastructure, homes, and businesses. You will be instrumental in making our customers’ complex projects simple, successful, and sustainable by proactively solving problems and adapting to evolving market needs.
  • • Your primary responsibility will involve the comprehensive development of quotations for Waterworks projects. This includes gathering all necessary data, accurately entering new quotes into our systems, and proactively contacting vendors to obtain essential job quotes and material pricing. You will serve as a key liaison, working directly with our branches, vendor representatives, and clients to ensure seamless project execution and outstanding customer service.
  • • A significant aspect of your role will be to collaborate closely with partners and clients to precisely define project scope, understand detailed specifications, identify all requirements, and perform necessary calculations. This requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to translate complex project needs into actionable quotation data.
  • • You will be expected to stay abreast of the latest industry developments, including new products, emerging trends, current market costs, and competitive pricing strategies. This continuous learning ensures that Ferguson remains at the forefront of the Waterworks industry and provides the most value to our customers.
  • • A critical function of this role is the diligent follow-up on customer quotes and proactive engagement with vendors to secure timely and accurate material pricing. You will be responsible for coordinating with vendors to ensure that all pricing data is received within established deadlines, preventing delays and maintaining project momentum.
  • • You will actively participate in the resolution of any pricing-related issues that may arise, demonstrating strong problem-solving skills and a commitment to accuracy. Your ability to analyze discrepancies and find effective solutions will be highly valued.
  • • The role demands a thorough analysis of project specifications, which may include interpreting sketches, blueprints, bills of material, or sample layouts. This analytical capability is crucial for developing precise cost estimates.
  • • You will assess the cost-effectiveness of proposed products, projects, or services, and track actual costs against bids as the project progresses. This involves a continuous evaluation of financial viability and project performance.
  • • Timeliness is paramount; you will be responsible for sending completed quotes to the FEI sales representative and/or customer, builder, or designer at least one day in advance of the identified due date, ensuring all stakeholders have ample time for review.
  • • You will confer with owners, contractors, and subcontractors regarding any changes and adjustments to cost estimates, fostering clear communication and collaborative problem-solving.
  • • Project management support is also a key component. You will complete project work by using and maintaining a bid calendar and updating Salesforce, ensuring all project data is current and accessible.
  • • You will develop a deep understanding of Ferguson's extensive product lines, services, and customer base by working closely with more experienced brand/product managers. This mentorship will foster your growth within the organization.
  • • Based on your growing product knowledge and understanding of client needs, you will recommend products and services that align perfectly with clients' business objectives, adding significant value to their projects.
  • • You will assist Project Managers with the execution of projects, ensuring adherence to the organization's project management methodology and established project plans.
  • • Identifying, developing, and gathering the necessary resources to successfully complete projects will be part of your contribution, ensuring all project requirements are met.
  • • You will establish, maintain, and develop effective sales relationships with major accounts and key customers, contributing to long-term business success.
  • • Your involvement in corporate-wide initiatives related to pricing functions, philosophies, or processes will help shape Ferguson's strategic direction in these areas.
  • • Finally, you will participate actively in associate meetings, communicating any concerns or insights to management, fostering a collaborative and communicative work environment.
