- • As an Executive Operational Planning Manager (EOPM) within the Communications and Public Affairs (CPA) team, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Vice President (VP) of Corporate Impact at USAA. This dynamic position offers a unique blend of strategic operational planning, meticulous project management, and high-level executive support, making it an ideal opportunity for a proactive and growth-oriented professional.
- • You will serve as the primary liaison for the VP, navigating a fast-paced and demanding environment to ensure the seamless coordination and timely delivery of key initiatives and critical deliverables destined for the CEO and the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Your responsibilities will extend to owning the essential daily operations of the VP’s office, which includes the complex management of executive calendars, meticulous planning of events, seamless coordination of travel logistics, and accurate expense reporting.
- • This role is designed for an individual with a strong background in program management or executive-level operations who thrives on taking initiative and is eager to contribute to driving significant impact across the organization. You will report directly to the Operations/Chief of Staff team, working collaboratively with fellow CPA Executive Operational Planning and Executive Assistant teammates. This collaborative structure ensures alignment of deliverables across the organization and fosters an environment of preparation and efficiency within the VP’s office.
- • A key aspect of your role will be to facilitate tactical and operational planning and implementation processes. You will ensure that management is fully informed about departmental processes, overarching goals, strategic objectives, and the broader organizational strategies. This involves not only understanding these elements but also effectively communicating them to relevant stakeholders.
- • You will be responsible for monitoring, coordinating, documenting, and communicating progress towards the achievement of business goals, objectives, strategies, and action plan results. This requires a keen eye for detail and the ability to track complex projects and initiatives, providing clear and concise updates to leadership.
- • A significant part of your function will involve evaluating the relevance and impact of communications for their intended audiences. You will ensure that all messaging is consistent, accurate, and aligned with USAA's brand and strategic objectives. This includes providing expert advice and guidance, and negotiating the approval of communication materials with executive management and subject-matter experts before securing final approval from senior executives or Executive Council members.
- • You will ensure that all deliverables meet the established standards for appearance and content, and that all logistical requirements for meetings, events, and presentations are meticulously satisfied. This attention to detail is crucial for maintaining the high standards expected at the executive level.
- • You will be responsible for the development, coordination, and timely submission of requirements driven by broader Executive Council (EC) and Board/Council/Committee mandates. This involves understanding and translating these high-level requirements into actionable plans and ensuring their successful execution.
- • Furthermore, you will provide oversight and support to project teams involved in the development and implementation of departmental employee events and business conferences. This includes managing timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful and impactful events.
- • A critical component of this role is ensuring that all risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with established risk and compliance policies and procedures. This proactive risk management approach is essential for protecting the organization.
- • The role requires a strong ability to build and maintain robust relationships across all levels of the organization, fostering collaboration and trust. You will need to demonstrate a proven capability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, effectively prioritizing tasks amidst competing deadlines, and handling confidential information with the utmost discretion.
- • You will interact and collaborate positively with executive leadership, clearly communicating complex concepts and strategies. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is essential for creating executive-level briefings and managing day-to-day tasks. This position offers a unique opportunity to be at the forefront of corporate impact initiatives, contributing directly to USAA's mission and its members' financial security.
