📋 Description

• Conduct comprehensive background investigations using technology, electronic tools, and multiple systems to interview subjects, employers, associates, references, and other knowledgeable individuals, while reviewing official records to establish background, reputation, character, suitability, or qualifications.
• Perform interviews using Virtual Teleconference (VTC) as the primary method, supplemented by phone and in-person meetings, ensuring accurate and thorough data collection.
• Complete a one-week intensive virtual, online training program upon hire to meet operational standards.
• Resolve all material issues in each case to ensure investigative completeness and compliance with federal standards.
• Travel up to 10% locally for assignments, with potential for temporary duty assignments (TDY) across the U.S. lasting approximately two weeks.
• Gain exposure to multiple federal background investigation contracts to broaden professional experience and adaptability.
• Maintain efficient workflow by navigating and utilizing multiple technology systems simultaneously to manage case load and documentation.
• Prepare detailed, accurate, and grammatically correct written reports that communicate complex or sensitive information clearly and professionally to intended audiences.
• Demonstrate exceptional oral communication skills, including active listening, appropriate response to nonverbal cues, and clear, convincing presentations.
• Build and maintain professional relationships with diverse individuals while handling challenging or sensitive situations with tact and discretion.
• Ensure adherence to strict standards of integrity, professionalism, and mission-driven service in support of national security initiatives.
• Operate from a home office located within reasonable distance to assigned workload areas, equipped with reliable high-speed internet (monthly $50 stipend provided).
• Maintain a current driver’s license and reliable personal vehicle to support local travel requirements tied to assignment location.
• Perform duties requiring extended periods of sitting, typing, standing, or walking as needed to complete investigative tasks.
• Prioritize tasks effectively, manage time efficiently, and consistently meet quality, timeliness, and production metrics.
• Obtain and maintain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation and hold or be able to obtain customer credentials aligned with National Training Standard certification.

🎯 Requirements

• Current customer credential or ability to obtain one based on National Training Standard certification and recent background investigation experience
• Bachelor’s Degree or 4 years of general experience demonstrating progressive responsibility in problem solving, planning, organizing work, and oral/written communication
• Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable determination based on a T5 Investigation
• Current driver’s license, reliable personal vehicle, and willingness to travel locally
• Home office within reasonable distance to workload area with reliable high-speed internet
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including ability to produce grammatically correct, organized, and audience-appropriate reports
