📋 Description

• This role involves shaping how frontier AI models reason through financial reporting by applying deep expertise in external reporting and GAAP/IFRS compliance to ensure AI-generated financial statements meet institutional standards.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include designing realistic financial statement and disclosure tasks based on real reporting cycles, writing evaluation rubrics for correct GAAP/IFRS presentation and disclosure, reviewing AI-generated statements and disclosures for compliance and consistency, building reference statement sets and checklists, and identifying technically passable but non-compliant AI outputs with precise gap explanations.
• Aptura partners with leading foundational AI labs to integrate institutional finance expertise into AI model development, operating remotely from London and San Francisco with a team of ex-Lazard and Partners Group professionals focused on bridging finance and AI innovation.
• In this role, you will define the benchmark for financial reporting in AI systems, influence how AI models understand and apply complex accounting standards, and establish evaluation frameworks that could become industry standards for AI accountability in financial reasoning.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8+ years in external / SEC reporting, financial reporting, or audit with a strong reporting focus
• Knowledge of a full set of financial statements and the disclosure requirements behind every line
• CPA, ACA / ACCA, or equivalent (preferred, not required)
• Deep expertise in US GAAP or IFRS — ideally fluent in both
