  • • The Federal Business Development Representative is the tip of the spear for GovSignals Federal, responsible for creating and owning the federal sales pipeline from scratch by identifying opportunities, building relationships with key decision-makers, and closing deals in a high-impact, mission-driven environment.
  • • Day to day, the role involves researching federal agencies, mapping organizational structures, attending industry events to generate leads, preparing and delivering tailored pitches, navigating complex procurement processes like FAR/DFARS, building and maintaining a network of contacts, supporting proposal efforts, and providing regular updates on opportunities and competitor activity to the CEO and federal team.
  • • GovSignals is an acquisition AI platform transforming federal contracting by making it 85% faster, deployed inside the Department of War and trusted by over 1,000 enterprise users including major defense contractors. The company is at the center of a historic acquisition reorganization with hundreds of billions in activity being restructured, offering a greenfield opportunity to shape the federal sales motion alongside the founding team.
  • • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in federal procurement, build a scalable sales strategy from the ground up, own full-cycle deal closure, and grow as a trusted advisor in national security and government technology—directly impacting how the U.S. government acquires critical capabilities.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 3-7 years of experience in business development, sales, or capture in the federal or defense market with a proven track record of closing deals
  • • Demonstrated ability to build a professional network from scratch in a new territory or market
  • • Deep comfort navigating federal procurement processes, including understanding FAR/DFARS, contract vehicles, and agency-specific acquisition pathways
