đź“‹ Description
- • As a Defense Field Application Engineer (FAE) at Point One Navigation, you will be at the forefront of enabling mission success for U.S. military and government programs by architecting, integrating, and supporting our cutting-edge GNSS/PNT platform. This role is pivotal in bridging the gap between our advanced technology and the complex, often mission-critical, requirements of defense applications.
- • You will act as the primary technical liaison, guiding customers from initial technical discovery and pre-sales engagement through to post-award integration and long-term operational success. Your expertise will be crucial in shaping capture strategies, supporting RFI/RFP responses with robust technical narratives, and demonstrating the tangible value of our solutions in real-world scenarios.
- • A significant part of your responsibility will involve conducting technical discovery conversations, understanding the unique challenges and operational environments of defense customers across land, air, maritime, and autonomous platforms. This deep understanding will enable you to architect mission-aligned PNT solutions tailored to specific defense needs.
- • You will be instrumental in leading customers through architecture reviews and deployment planning, focusing on key areas such as GNSS corrections, advanced sensor fusion, PNT filtering, Inertial Navigation System (INS) integration, and navigating challenging RF environments, including GPS-denied conditions.
- • Designing scalable integration strategies for embedded systems, autonomy stacks, and edge deployments will be a core function, ensuring our technology seamlessly integrates into existing and future defense systems.
- • You will also play a key role in supporting evaluations and demonstrations, including on-site proof-of-concepts (PoCs), prototype integrations under Other Transaction Agreements (OTAs), Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) programs, and pilot initiatives.
- • Post-award, your technical enablement efforts will ensure smooth onboarding, integration, and field deployment of Point One solutions. This includes providing hands-on debugging, troubleshooting, and root-cause investigation in complex, often demanding, operational environments.
- • You will serve as the critical technical bridge between our defense customers and our internal Engineering and Product teams. This involves translating customer mission requirements and field feedback into actionable insights that directly influence product roadmap priorities for defense use cases.
- • Collaboration is key in this role. You will work closely with the Defense Sales Director, Product Management, Engineering teams, and Executive Leadership to ensure technical strategy is aligned with market demands and customer needs.
- • You will contribute to the development of reusable assets such as demo environments, integration guides, training materials, and technical documentation, enhancing the overall customer experience and internal knowledge base.
- • Success in this role is defined by owning technical wins in defense pursuits and programs, driving successful PoCs and integrations, building deep technical trust with government engineers and program managers, and effectively translating mission requirements into product feedback that drives innovation.
- • The ideal candidate will possess a strong systems-level understanding of embedded systems, autonomy stacks, and real-time positioning, coupled with proven experience debugging complex hardware/software integrations.
- • Excellent communication skills are essential, enabling you to influence and engage effectively with both highly technical engineers and program leadership.
- • The role requires regular travel to military bases, test ranges, and integration sites, underscoring the hands-on, field-oriented nature of the position.
- • By joining Point One Navigation, you will be part of a high-performance, high-collaboration team dedicated to solving complex problems and delivering measurable impact in the rapidly evolving field of precise location technology for defense applications.
