This is a high-impact position where you will serve as the primary finance business partner to Supplier Management and business unit leadership, directly contributing to the achievement of commercial, operational, and financial objectives.
- • Your core responsibility will be to lead and execute all financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities related to supplier funding. This encompasses strategic planning, the annual budget process, financial forecasting, and in-depth financial analyses that drive informed decision-making.
- • You will be instrumental in developing sophisticated scenario planning models, conducting rigorous variance analyses to understand deviations from plan, and meticulously tracking the performance of programs and initiatives against established targets.
- • A key aspect of this role involves performing detailed return on investment (ROI) analyses for working capital-related projects and other strategic investments, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and maximizing financial returns.
- • You will also be responsible for identifying and quantifying financial risks and opportunities, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations to mitigate potential downsides and capitalize on favorable trends.
- • This role requires a proactive approach to assessing and communicating financial and operational performance trends for Supplier Management. You will leverage appropriate metrics to identify areas of risk and opportunity, propose strategic actions, and forecast the financial and strategic implications of these actions.
- • You will direct the preparation of comprehensive financial presentations for functional leaders, including monthly and quarterly business reviews, performance scorecards, initiative trackers, and detailed profitability models for deal reviews.
- • A significant part of your contribution will involve proactively evaluating financial results, monitoring current and historical trends, and recommending strategic actions to ensure the team meets its key performance indicators (KPIs) across all areas, including revenue, cost of sales, expenses, working capital, and capital expenditures.
- • You will identify and quantify opportunities for financial performance improvement and develop strategic financial analyses for presentation to the Supplier Management, Operations, Commercial, and Finance leadership teams.
- • The role demands close collaboration with the Accounting team to ensure the integrity and accuracy of the financial close process and the company's financial statements.
- • As a change agent, you will foster a culture of innovation, encouraging new ideas, processes, and approaches. You will champion and enable multidisciplinary problem-solving, teamwork, flexibility, execution excellence, quality, and effective communication within your sphere of influence.
- • You will own the Supplier Management financial forecasting cycle, working in close partnership with Supplier Management Leadership, Commercial Finance, Field Operations, Medical Distribution FP&A, Corporate FP&A, and Accounting. This includes managing weekly, monthly, and quarterly forecast cycles, the annual budget process, and the strategic long-range plan process.
- • Furthermore, you will be involved in the prioritization, planning, and tracking of capital expenditures (CapEx) and other strategic investments.
- • You will prepare financial and business-related analyses and research in areas such as scenario planning, expense performance, rate of return, and supplier performance optimization.
- • This position requires the ability to influence senior leadership, balancing the need for support with constructive challenge, and demonstrating a proven ability to assess needs, identify issues, recommend alternatives, and implement change effectively.
- • You will also be responsible for managing and performing multiple concurrent tasks with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency, and communicating complex financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences.
- • The role may involve leading and directing the work of others, providing coaching and mentoring to develop talent within the finance team.
- • Travel, up to 10% of the time, may be required to support business needs.
- • This role is a critical link between financial operations and strategic business objectives, ensuring that Supplier Management operates efficiently and profitably, contributing significantly to Owens & Minor's overall success in the global healthcare solutions market.
