Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Serve as Rally’s first in-house Finance Lead, building the finance function from scratch and serving as the primary financial partner to the CEO and leadership team.
- • Own end-to-end financial modeling including forecasting, scenario planning, cohort analysis, fundraising preparation, and unit economics for a high-growth SaaS and AI-native platform.
- • Maintain daily visibility into cash flow, burn rate, and runway, holding leadership accountable for capital efficiency and disciplined spending.
- • Lead budget construction, departmental spend tracking, and budget vs. actuals reviews, centralizing visibility into SaaS, AI tools, and vendor expenditures.
- • Partner directly with Sales to model and optimize GTM metrics: CAC, payback period, cohort NDR, pipeline-to-bookings, and commission structures.
- • Own pricing and packaging strategy by building financial models, conducting scenario analysis, and measuring the impact of pricing changes.
- • Manage procurement and vendor financial reviews, evaluating cost-effectiveness and negotiating terms for tools and services.
- • Build and maintain board-ready, investor-grade financial materials and collaborate with the CEO to craft the fundraising narrative and data room content.
- • Design and implement modern financial reporting and close infrastructure using AI-native tools and automation, moving beyond legacy Excel workflows.
- • Oversee the outsourced accounting partner, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in AP/AR, payroll, invoicing, and audit preparation.
- • Drive financial discipline across the organization by translating complex financial insights into clear, actionable strategic recommendations.
- • Operate with high ownership in a remote-first environment, defaulting to async communication and written documentation while participating in periodic in-person team gatherings.
- • Embrace an AI-native approach to finance by actively experimenting with and integrating AI tools to improve efficiency, accuracy, and speed in financial operations.
- • Work cross-functionally with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and People teams to align financial strategy with product development, customer acquisition, and talent growth.
- • Set the standard for finance at Rally by establishing scalable, transparent, and automated processes that support rapid growth and investor readiness.
- • Contribute to company culture by embodying Rally’s customer-driven and high-trust values, using user insights to inform financial decision-making.
- • Participate in occasional travel for team on-sites, board meetings, and investor meetings, primarily within the United States.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–8 years of post-undergrad experience in investment banking, private equity, growth equity, venture capital, and/or strategic finance at a high-growth SaaS startup
- • Strong modeling fluency: ability to build clean, defensible financial models with proficiency in cohort analysis, unit economics, and scenario planning
- • Fluency in SaaS metrics: ARR, NDR, GRR, CAC, payback, magic number, burn multiple, gross margin, and cohort retention
- • Hands-on operator’s mindset: actively live in the model, run budgets, and drive decisions—not just produce decks
- • Temperament to hold founders and senior leaders accountable on budget, spend, and runway, and to push back when necessary
- • Comfort with ambiguity: ability to build the playbook as you go without defined scope or processes
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive compensation with base salary range of $160,000 – $190,000 USD per year and eligibility for variable compensation (annual bonus and/or equity awards)
- • Flexible / unlimited PTO policy
- • Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- • Parental Leave
- • 401(k) retirement plan
- • Home office set-up support
- • Monthly remote work stipend
- • Quarterly in-person team or company gatherings
