đź“‹ Description

  • • BJAK is at the forefront of building superior application platforms globally, driven by a mission to foster successful businesses and positively impact society through enhanced efficiency. We have pioneered the first and leading insurance platform in Southeast Asia, successfully digitizing the industry and serving over 8 million users across the region. Our journey continues as we innovate with new, cutting-edge applications, increasingly integrating Artificial Intelligence to address emerging use cases. Our team is characterized by its exceptional talent, high motivation, and unwavering focus on engineering and product excellence within a remarkably flat organizational structure. Every team member is expected to be hands-on, contributing directly and meaningfully to the company's overarching mission.
  • • In this pivotal role, we are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Financial Controller to spearhead BJAK's regional finance function. You will be instrumental in driving financial excellence across our rapidly expanding business operations. This is a comprehensive leadership position that is both strategic in its vision and hands-on in its execution, with ultimate responsibility for ensuring the financial health, robust governance, and scalability of our operations across multiple international markets. You will forge a strong partnership with the executive leadership team, providing critical guidance on financial strategy, fortifying internal controls, meticulously managing financial reporting and audits, and empowering data-driven decision-making processes that are essential for sustaining our accelerated growth trajectory.
  • • Your mandate will encompass overseeing all aspects of financial reporting, budgeting, strategic planning, and regulatory compliance for all regional entities. This includes ensuring strict adherence to both overarching corporate financial policies and diverse local regulatory standards. A key responsibility will be the consolidation and in-depth analysis of financial results for monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews, translating complex data into actionable insights that will guide leadership in driving sustainable growth, enhancing profitability, and optimizing operational efficiency.
  • • You will take the lead in the meticulous preparation, vigilant monitoring, and proactive management of budgets, financial forecasts, and long-term financial plans across our various markets. A core focus will be on establishing and maintaining robust internal controls, comprehensive risk management frameworks, and sound corporate governance practices throughout the entire finance organization. This includes proactively identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to safeguard company assets and ensure financial integrity.
  • • The role involves managing and coordinating all external and internal audits, acting as the primary liaison between external audit firms, internal audit teams, and country-specific finance departments. You will ensure that all financial activities are conducted in full compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), and all applicable local tax and regulatory requirements in every jurisdiction where BJAK operates. This requires a deep understanding of the nuances of financial regulations across different countries.
  • • A significant part of your contribution will be leading strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing our financial systems, optimizing the utilization of our Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system, and refining reporting processes. The goal is to drive greater automation, improve data accuracy, and accelerate the speed of financial reporting, thereby providing more timely and relevant information to stakeholders.
  • • You will serve as a key advisor and support system for business leaders and country finance teams, ensuring a strong alignment between overarching financial objectives and day-to-day operational strategies. This collaborative approach is vital for fostering a unified financial vision across the organization.
  • • Furthermore, you will actively participate in Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) activities, including conducting due diligence, performing financial assessments of potential targets, and supporting integration projects as required to facilitate the company's strategic expansion and growth initiatives. This requires a keen eye for financial risk and opportunity in a dynamic M&A landscape.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a closely related discipline.
  • • Fully qualified CPA, ACCA, or equivalent professional certification.
  • • Minimum of 8 years of progressive, relevant experience, including at least 3 years in a Big 4 audit firm and demonstrated leadership experience in a regional finance role.
  • • Deep, practical knowledge of IFRS, GAAP, tax regulations, and financial compliance frameworks across multiple international markets.
  • • Proven track record of successfully managing regional finance operations and complex multi-entity financial reporting.
  • • Expertise in major ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) coupled with advanced Excel and strong analytical capabilities.
  • • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to influence stakeholders and clearly articulate complex financial concepts to non-finance professionals.
  • • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail, sound business judgment, and the resilience to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, and dynamic business environment.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive compensation package designed to reflect your significant impact and leadership contributions.
  • • Direct access to executive decision-making processes, offering substantial strategic influence.
  • • Accelerated career growth opportunities within a rapidly scaling and innovative fintech platform.
  • • A high-ownership, transparent, and collaborative work culture that prioritizes clarity, speed, and accountability, free from unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • • The unique opportunity to shape impactful financial outcomes and build the foundational finance infrastructure for a high-growth regional business that is leveraging the power of AI.
