📋 Description

• The Financial Crime Analyst – Quality Assurance role is a critical first‑line control function that ensures financial crime cases are completed accurately, consistently, and in line with internal procedures, regulatory expectations, and quality standards. This role supports Modulr’s mission to maintain robust, compliant, and efficient financial crime operations as it scales globally.
• Day to day, the analyst conducts structured quality assurance reviews of financial crime cases, assesses outcomes for accuracy and adherence to policies, provides constructive feedback to analysts, records quality outcomes and trends, identifies process gaps, and supports continuous improvement initiatives through collaboration with Quality, Training, and Operations teams.
• Modulr is a fast-growing, regulated Authorised Electronic Money Institution (AEMI) with over 450 employees across London, Edinburgh, Amsterdam, and Mumbai. The company powers embedded payments for businesses via its industry-leading API platform, serving clients in sectors such as Travel, Lending, Wage Advance, and Investment & Wealth, and is directly integrated into major payment schemes including Faster Payments, Bacs, CHAPS, SEPA, SWIFT, Visa, and Mastercard.
• In this role, you will develop deep expertise in financial crime quality assurance, regulatory frameworks (AML, CTF, Sanctions, Fraud), and control environments. You will strengthen your analytical, communication, and training skills while contributing to process improvements and gaining exposure to a global, collaborative, and high-growth fintech environment.

🎯 Requirements

• Experience working in financial services with a good working knowledge of financial crime, focusing on quality and continuous improvement.
• Working understanding of regulatory expectations relevant to Financial Crime Operations (e.g., AML, CTF, Sanctions, Fraud).
• Prior exposure to quality assurance, peer review, or second-line review activities is desirable.
• Ability to apply quality standards consistently and participate in calibration to ensure aligned outcomes across reviewers.
• Good written communication skills, with the ability to clearly document findings and feedback.
• Excellent communication and reporting skills, capable of producing clear, concise, and actionable insights.
