📋 Description

• The Follow Up Associate I plays a critical role in minimizing financial risk for hospitals and patients by ensuring accurate insurance verification, eligibility confirmation, and authorization processing, directly supporting revenue cycle integrity and patient access to care.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include initiating contact with insurance companies via phone, fax, or web portals to verify benefits and eligibility; submitting and tracking pre-certification, authorization, and retro-authorization requests; collaborating with clinical teams to obtain necessary documentation; maintaining accurate electronic records; identifying and correcting insurance plan code errors; and ensuring HIPAA-compliant, professional communication with patients, providers, and internal stakeholders.

🎯 Requirements

• At least one (1) year of similar experience in patient-facing registration or healthcare administrative roles
• Excellent customer service skills with strong oral and written communication abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and collaborate cross-functionally with clinical and administrative staff
• Proficiency in communicating professionally and empathetically with patients, physician offices, and insurance payers
