📋 Description

• The Forward Deployed Engineer at LiveKit works directly with customers to design, implement, and scale real-time communication and voice AI applications on the LiveKit platform, bridging engineering and customer success to ensure seamless deployment from experimentation to production.
• Day to day, the role involves collaborating with customer engineering teams to design scalable architectures, build prototype integrations and reference implementations, debug production issues, lead technical workshops, and translate customer needs into product insights while contributing to LiveKit’s open-source ecosystem.
• LiveKit is building the infrastructure layer for the agentic era of computing, powering voice and agentic AI applications for major companies like OpenAI, Salesforce, Spotify, and Meta, with a mission to enable developers to build, test, deploy, scale, and observe AI agents in production.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in real-time systems, distributed architectures, and developer platforms while shaping product direction through direct customer feedback, gaining influence over platform evolution and becoming a trusted advisor in complex technical implementations.

🎯 Requirements

• Strong engineering background with 5+ years of experience in backend or infrastructure engineering
• Proficient in one or more programming languages such as Go, Python, Node, Rust, or C++
• Comfortable working across APIs, SDKs, distributed systems, and cloud infrastructure
• Experience building or integrating developer platforms or real-time systems
• Strong communicator who can collaborate directly with customer engineering teams and internal product teams
