📋 Description

• • The Forward Deployed Engineer role at OpenAI bridges cutting-edge AI research and real-world customer impact by leading end-to-end deployments of frontier models in production environments alongside strategic clients.
• • Day to day, you will own technical delivery from prototype to stable production, build full-stack systems, embed with customer teams to understand needs and guide adoption, scope and sequence work, remove blockers, make trade-offs between scope/speed/quality, contribute code when needed, codify working patterns into reusable tools, share field feedback to inform research and product roadmaps, and keep teams moving through clarity and follow-through.
• • You will partner with OpenAI’s Product, Research, Partnerships, GRC, Security, and GTM teams, operating at the intersection of customer delivery and core platform development to turn research breakthroughs into production systems.
• • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in deploying LLMs and generative AI in production, sharpen your ability to navigate ambiguous, high-stakes environments, strengthen cross-functional collaboration with enterprise customers and internal teams, and directly influence how OpenAI’s models evolve based on real-world feedback and adoption metrics.
