📋 Description

• As a Forward Deployed Engineer, Trust and Safety at Sift Science, Inc., you will play a critical role in protecting digital ecosystems by detecting and mitigating online abuse through technical analysis, model tuning, and customer collaboration.
• Day to day, you will work with Trust and Safety Architects and Data Science teams to surface emerging fraud patterns, detect anomalies in behavioral and transactional data, build and tune detection signals, lead forensic investigations during fraud spikes, and translate customer observations into product improvements.
• You will be part of a mission-driven team passionate about making the internet safer, working with global customers across verticals to optimize fraud prevention strategies while maintaining seamless user experiences.
• In this role, you will deepen your expertise in fraud detection systems, sharpen your ability to bridge technical findings with business impact, and contribute to internal tooling and playbooks that elevate the effectiveness of Sift’s entire Trust and Safety organization.

🎯 Requirements

• 5–8 years in fraud, trust & safety, risk, or a closely related technical domain with hands-on experience working with fraud data
• Strong SQL and Python skills, with a tendency to use code to answer questions rather than just build pipelines
• Strong understanding of ML concepts applied to fraud, including classification models, feature engineering, precision/recall tradeoffs, threshold calibration, and score drift
• Experience analyzing large-scale behavioral or transactional datasets to identify patterns and anomalies, such as fraud rings
• Ability to communicate technical findings clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including writing forensic reports and presenting to VPs of Risk
• Customer-facing experience with an understanding of varying business priorities and the importance of listening before optimizing
