Founder in Residence Generative AI

📋 Description

• • You will step in as the de-facto CEO from day one, owning the entire lifecycle of a brand-new Generative AI venture—from whiteboard concept to venture-backed company. Your mandate is to crystallize a compelling product vision, validate it with real users, and translate it into a scalable, revenue-generating business.
• • Lead technical architecture and hands-on development of cloud-native, full-stack GenAI applications. You will choose the right LLM stack (OpenAI, Anthropic, open-source, or fine-tuned), design robust data pipelines, and implement secure, cost-efficient inference at scale.
• • Rapidly prototype and iterate on 0 → 1 products in tight two-week sprints. You will run user interviews, synthesize feedback, and pivot features or entire directions when data demands it—always balancing speed with long-term technical debt.
• • Build and inspire a cross-functional founding team. In partnership with AI Fund’s Product Builder and Technical Builder, you will recruit first engineers, designers, and go-to-market talent while fostering a culture of high ownership, psychological safety, and relentless customer focus.
• • Own the investor narrative. You will craft pitch decks, financial models, and product demos that clearly articulate the problem, GenAI solution, and path to $100M ARR. You will present to AI Fund partners and external VCs, leading seed and Series A fundraising rounds.
• • Define and monitor key metrics—activation, retention, revenue, and model performance—turning raw data into actionable insights. You will instrument analytics from day one and use them to steer product roadmap and capital allocation.
• • Navigate regulatory and ethical considerations unique to Generative AI (IP, bias, hallucination, data privacy). You will design guardrails and compliance workflows that become a competitive moat rather than a bottleneck.
• • Cultivate strategic partnerships with cloud providers, data vendors, and industry incumbents in target verticals such as renewable energy, infrastructure, or compliance—turning distribution channels into unfair advantages.
• • Maintain a “founder’s diary” of hypotheses, experiments, and learnings to ensure institutional knowledge scales with the team. You will document architecture decisions, user insights, and cultural values that set the tone for future hires.
• • Champion diversity and inclusion in every hiring decision, ensuring the founding team reflects the global user base we aim to serve. You will implement inclusive sourcing practices and equitable compensation frameworks from the outset.
