- • Own the end-to-end relationship with a major public higher education institution serving tens of thousands of students, engaging directly with executive leadership including the State, Chancellor’s office, unit heads, IT, and institutional research teams.
- • Translate institutional priorities from executive leadership into clear product scope and implementation roadmaps that engineering teams ship against.
- • Partner with a Founding Forward-Deployed Engineer to ensure software is not only delivered but actively adopted and integrated into institutional workflows.
- • Define, author, and own the success metrics for the engagement — including outcomes, KPIs, and measurement frameworks — without inheriting them from sales or leadership.
- • Build the foundational playbook for how Starbridge embeds within public agencies and institutions, establishing repeatable processes for future deployments at scale.
- • Own the full P&L for a multi-million dollar institutional partnership from day one, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue tracking, and renewal/expansion planning.
- • Author customer requirements documents, statements of work, and product roadmaps with clear scope boundaries, making definitive decisions on what is in or out of scope.
- • Maintain a 4-day-per-week onsite presence at the NYC office to foster deep collaboration with internal teams and customer stakeholders.
- • Travel to customer sites approximately once per week to observe operations firsthand, gather feedback, and align on implementation progress.
- • Operate at the highest executive levels of a large public institution, bridging strategic vision with operational execution to drive measurable institutional impact.
- • Establish Starbridge’s approach to long-term, multi-year institutional engagements, setting the standard for how the company scales its customer success model.
- • Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure product development, engineering, and operations align with the customer’s evolving needs and institutional constraints.
- • Champion customer-centricity by living close to the work, experiencing friction firsthand, and ensuring every decision is grounded in real-world institutional context.
- • Drive momentum and decisiveness in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing speed and results while maintaining high standards for quality and adoption.
- • Contribute to a culture of joy, humor, and camaraderie, recognizing that energy and fun are critical to sustaining high performance on complex, long-term projects.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3+ years owning enterprise or institutional customer relationships, with at least one engagement of 18+ months where you were the primary commercial and strategic owner from kickoff through renewal or expansion.
- • Direct accountability for $1M+ in annual contract value or program budget you owned outcomes for, including authoring the success metrics yourself rather than inheriting them from sales or leadership.
- • Authorship of customer requirements docs, statements of work, or product roadmaps that engineering shipped against. You can point to specific decisions where you held the line on what was in or out of scope.
- • 4 days a week onsite at our NYC office.
- • Ability to travel to customer sites roughly once a week.
