Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full technical sales motion from first call to signed contract. You’ll quarterback every technical touchpoint—discovery, architecture workshops, proof-of-concept scoping, security reviews, and procurement negotiations—while partnering directly with the founders to hit aggressive revenue targets.
- • Run a high-velocity pipeline of developer-centric enterprise and mid-market accounts. You’ll qualify prospects, map stakeholders, and craft ROI-driven business cases that turn skeptical engineers into enthusiastic champions.
- • Lead deeply technical discovery sessions. You’ll whiteboard event-driven architectures, map Inngest into existing micro-service stacks, and surface hidden constraints around throughput, latency, compliance, and cost—then translate those findings into a crisp, differentiated value story.
- • Design and execute tailored proof-of-concepts. You’ll spin up sandbox environments, instrument benchmarks, write sample functions in TypeScript, Python, or Go, and guide customers through integration with their existing queues, data pipelines, and cloud infra (AWS, GCP, Azure).
- • Influence cross-functional stakeholders—CTOs, Staff Engineers, Security, Legal, and Procurement—by authoring architecture decision records (ADRs), security questionnaires, and Total-Cost-of-Ownership models that de-risk adoption and accelerate signature.
- • Create reusable technical assets that scale. In partnership with DevRel and Content Engineering, you’ll build interactive demos, Terraform modules, reference architectures, and open-source templates that future reps can drop into deals to compress sales cycles.
- • Close the feedback loop with Product & Engineering. You’ll tag, prioritize, and champion customer feature requests, turning real-world pain points into roadmap items that increase win rates and expansion revenue.
- • Define the next generation of GTM playbooks. From objection-handling trees to enterprise security checklists, your documentation will become the foundation on which we hire and ramp additional Sales Engineers.
- • Mentor and interview future GTM talent. Within your first year you’ll help screen, interview, and onboard at least one additional SE, codifying the onboarding curriculum you wish you’d had on day one.
- • Report on technical win/loss drivers. You’ll maintain a living dashboard of deal blockers, competitive gaps, and technical objections—feeding weekly insights to founders so we can iterate positioning and product in real time.
🎯 Requirements
- • 4+ years in a pre-sales, solutions engineering, or technical AE role within a Seed–Series B, product-led SaaS company
- • Fluency reading and writing code (TypeScript, Python, or Go) and architecting cloud-native, event-driven systems
- • Proven track record closing complex technical deals ($50k–$500k ARR) involving security, compliance, and procurement reviews
- • Excellent written and verbal communication—able to translate low-level API details into C-suite ROI narratives
- • Self-starter comfortable defining process in ambiguous, high-autonomy environments; overlap with U.S. business hours required
🏖️ Benefits
- • Competitive base salary + uncapped commission on every deal you close
- • Early-employee equity with high upside in a fast-growing, developer-loved platform
- • Health, dental, and vision insurance fully covered for you and 75% for dependents
- • Quarterly off-sites in San Francisco with the entire team—travel & stay on us
- • $2,000 annual learning stipend for conferences, courses, and certifications
