- • Maintain and update the company’s financial forecast model, including actuals, revenue assumptions, expense forecasts, headcount planning, cash forecasting, runway scenarios, and scenario analysis.
- • Prepare monthly budget vs. actuals reporting that explains variances, identifies root causes, and provides actionable recommendations for leadership.
- • Partner with department leaders to deliver visibility into spend, headcount, budgets, forecasts, and material financial risks across the organization.
- • Develop and maintain recurring KPI dashboards focused on cash position, runway, burn rate, and key operating trends to inform leadership decision-making.
- • Support board reporting, investor communications, fundraising efforts, and strategic finance initiatives through detailed financial analysis, KPI backup, variance explanations, and supporting schedules.
- • Build scalable, repeatable reporting processes and templates to reduce manual effort, improve accuracy, and decrease dependency on the Head of Finance.
- • Collaborate with accounting and the Finance Analyst to ensure all actuals are accurately tied to the accounting close and reliable source systems.
- • Leverage AI and automation tools to enhance the speed, accuracy, and repeatability of recurring finance workflows while maintaining appropriate controls and review layers.
- • Translate complex financial data into clear, actionable insights for non-finance stakeholders, ensuring alignment between financial performance and operational outcomes.
- • Own end-to-end delivery of monthly finance rhythms, including deadline management, tracking open items, and following through without constant oversight.
- • Apply strong analytical rigor to reconcile outputs with source data, validate assumptions, and flag material discrepancies or risks before reporting.
- • Demonstrate business judgment by distinguishing key signals from noise, prioritizing high-impact issues, and recommending data-driven actions.
- • Maintain a deep understanding of SaaS and subscription business metrics including ARR, MRR, churn, retention, CAC, payback period, gross margin, burn, and runway.
- • Communicate financial concepts clearly and effectively to non-finance leaders through written and verbal presentations.
- • Work directly with business owners and department heads, not just finance teams, to embed financial discipline into operational planning.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3 to 6 years of experience in FP&A, strategic finance, corporate finance, investment banking, consulting, or startup finance
- • Strong financial modeling skills including building or maintaining forecasts, budgets, management reporting, and scenario analysis
- • Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills
- • Experience preparing budget vs. actuals reporting and variance analysis
- • Strong understanding of SaaS or subscription business metrics (ARR, MRR, churn, retention, CAC, payback, gross margin, burn, runway)
- • Experience using AI or automation tools to improve finance workflows, reporting, or analysis
