  • • Shape the future of Conversational Commerce at Gorgias, the platform turning every brand-customer interaction into an intelligent, human-like relationship. As a Front-End Engineer you will own the user-facing layer of a product that already powers millions of high-value conversations for Shopify merchants worldwide.
  • • Join one of six cross-functional squads—Phone, Apps, Developer Relations, Growth, In-App Analytics, or Streaming Infrastructure—each chartered to solve a distinct piece of the commerce puzzle. Whether you craft voice-driven checkout flows, design frictionless onboarding funnels, or build the design system that unifies our UI, your code will directly influence how shoppers discover, buy, and get support in real time.
  • • Partner daily with Product Managers and Product Designers in a true trio model. You will translate Figma prototypes into pixel-perfect, accessible React components, iterate through user-testing loops, and ship behind feature flags multiple times per week. Expect rapid feedback from merchants who depend on your work to close sales and delight customers.
  • • Architect and optimize for performance at global scale. Our merchants see traffic spikes during Black-Friday-level events; your bundling strategy, code-splitting decisions, and CDN configuration will determine whether a conversation converts or stalls. You will profile Core Web Vitals, eliminate render-blocking assets, and leverage edge caching to keep Time-to-Interactive under one second on mobile networks.
  • • Champion a component-driven culture. Using React’s composition model, you will create a library of battle-tested, themeable, and accessible components that engineers across squads can drop in without reinventing the wheel. You will enforce standards through Storybook, visual regression tests, and semantic versioning so that every new screen feels native to Gorgias.
  • • Own the full front-end stack—from Vite/Webpack/Rspack configuration to Jest/Vitest suites and CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions. You will write integration tests that spin up real browser environments, configure Lighthouse budgets in PR checks, and maintain documentation that lets any engineer ship confidently.
  • • Contribute to API design. While your primary focus is the browser, you will collaborate with back-end engineers on GraphQL schemas, real-time subscriptions via WebSockets, and REST endpoints that power our React-Query caches. Your empathy for client needs shapes pagination strategies, optimistic updates, and error-handling contracts.
  • • Elevate accessibility and internationalization. Our merchants sell in 30+ languages and must meet WCAG 2.1 AA. You will audit components with screen readers, add RTL support, and integrate i18n workflows so that every shopper—regardless of ability or locale—experiences the same level of polish.
  • • Mentor and be mentored. You will review pull requests with kindness and rigor, pair program with junior engineers, and present brown-bag sessions on topics like micro-frontends or CSS container queries. Learning is a first-class citizen here; you will spend Fridays exploring new patterns and feeding insights back into the roadmap.
  • • Drive experimentation and data-informed iteration. Using our in-product analytics platform, you will instrument events, run A/B tests, and analyze conversion funnels. Your dashboards will reveal whether a new checkout flow increases revenue per conversation or if a design tweak reduces support ticket volume.
  • • Participate in our two-week interview loop as both candidate and future ambassador. After you join, you will help refine our live-coding exercises and rubrics, ensuring we continue to hire engineers who raise the bar for craftsmanship and empathy.
