• Katapult Labs, Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Full Stack Engineer with a strong backend focus to join our innovative team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in bridging the critical gap between cutting-edge experimentation and robust, scalable production environments. Your primary mission will involve taking successful prototypes and high-impact features, particularly those leveraging WhatsApp integrations, and seamlessly embedding them into our core product architecture. • As a Full Stack Engineer (Backend focus), you will be a key player in transforming experimental concepts into production-ready solutions. You will work closely with our experimentation leads and the Director of Engineering, ensuring that every new feature not only meets but exceeds the highest standards of quality, security, and maintainability. This involves a deep understanding of backend systems, API integrations, and the software development lifecycle.
• **Key Responsibilities include:**
• **WhatsApp Integration Leadership:** You will take the lead in implementing and maintaining robust WhatsApp API functionalities. This includes designing, developing, and ensuring the reliability of communication flows, handling message processing, user management, and integration with our existing systems. Your expertise will be crucial in building secure and scalable solutions for this vital communication channel.
• **Productionizing Experiments:** A core aspect of this role is taking validated Minimum Viable Products (MVPs) and transforming them into stable, scalable, and well-documented features within the main platform. This requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to refactor experimental code into production-grade solutions, and a strong understanding of performance optimization.
• **Core Backend Development:** You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining high-quality backend services that form the backbone of our product. This includes building RESTful APIs, managing databases, implementing business logic, and ensuring the overall health and performance of our backend infrastructure.
• **Engineering Collaboration:** You will work collaboratively and closely with the experimentation team and the Director of Engineering. This involves participating in technical hand-overs, providing feedback on experimental designs, and ensuring alignment between technical implementation and product goals. Effective communication and a shared vision are paramount.
• **Quality Assurance and Best Practices:** Ensuring the integrity of our product is essential. You will be responsible for ensuring all new features meet rigorous standards through comprehensive testing (unit, integration, end-to-end), thorough code reviews, and strict adherence to software engineering best practices. This includes focusing on code readability, maintainability, and security.
• **Scalability and Performance Optimization:** As our product grows, so does the need for efficient and scalable solutions. You will actively identify and address performance bottlenecks, optimize database queries, and implement architectural patterns that support future growth and high traffic loads.
• **Documentation and Knowledge Sharing:** Maintaining clear and concise documentation for all developed features and services is crucial for long-term maintainability and team knowledge. You will contribute to our internal knowledge base and mentor junior engineers when appropriate.
• **Problem Solving and Innovation:** You will tackle complex technical challenges, troubleshoot issues, and contribute innovative ideas to improve our product and development processes. Your ability to think critically and propose effective solutions will be highly valued.

🎯 Requirements

• Proven professional experience as a Backend or Full Stack Engineer (purely frontend profiles will not be considered).
• Mandatory and demonstrable experience with WhatsApp API integrations in previous professional projects.
• Strong proficiency in building and deploying production-grade applications with a focus on maintainability and scalability.
• Excellent English and communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly.
• Ability to write clean, efficient, and well-documented code for long-term sustainability.
