📋 Description

• Architect, build, and deploy internal tools and external proof-of-concept products in short, iterative cycles, ensuring every line of code you ship moves the needle for global brands on 60+ marketplaces.
• Act as the AI Technical Lead—evaluate emerging LLMs, embeddings, multimodal models, and agents; set the gold standard for AI-assisted coding, testing, and DevOps; and guide the entire engineering org in adopting those practices.
• Own a dedicated bleeding-edge tech budget—decide which new frameworks, GPUs, or research partnerships will give Pattern the next unfair advantage, then turn those investments into production features.
• Integrate generative AI capabilities end-to-end: from prompt engineering and vector search to fine-tuning and LangGraph orchestration—always tied to real business problems like forecasting demand on TikTok Shop or auto-generating ad copy for Amazon.
• Translate product managers’ solution concepts into reality while championing an AI-first development vision—every pull request should either leverage AI or make future AI adoption easier.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, pair programming, and quarterly goal setting; your coaching will directly influence the velocity and quality of a globally distributed team spanning Lehi, UT and Bangalore.
• Collaborate across time zones with product managers, UX designers, data scientists, and marketplace strategists to ensure the tech you ship aligns with revenue targets and partner OKRs.
• Own quality and operability from day one—automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, observability dashboards, and on-call rotations are part of your definition of done.
• Champion engineering best practices while keeping speed and pragmatism front-of-mind; Pattern grows fast, so your architecture decisions must scale to 46 trillion data points and beyond.
• Surface actionable insights from massive datasets—whether that means optimizing Walmart.com pricing algorithms or predicting Mercado Libre inventory levels six weeks out.
• Lead the technical integration of AI into every process throughout the company—finance, logistics, customer success, and even HR should feel the impact of the tools you create.
• Present technical roadmaps and ROI analyses to executives; your ability to articulate business value will secure continued investment in your initiatives.
• Stay plugged into the open-source AI community; contributions to LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar projects are celebrated and often fast-tracked into production.
• Maintain a security-first mindset—Pattern handles PII and financial data for Fortune 500 brands, so every API and model endpoint must meet SOC 2 and GDPR standards.

🎯 Requirements

• 5+ years delivering production full-stack applications with React (or equivalent) and Python FastAPI or Node.js
• Proven track record of 0→1 product ownership from design through launch on AWS
• Hands-on experience with relational databases (PostgreSQL/Snowflake) and SQL optimization
• Demonstrated curiosity or hands-on work with generative AI—prompt engineering, fine-tuning, vector search, LangChain/LangGraph
• Experience evaluating or integrating developer-productivity AI tools (Copilot, CodeWhisperer, test-gen, DevOps assistants)
