Full Job Description

đź“‹ Description

  • • Architect and deliver end-to-end features that power the discovery, purchase, and check-in flow for more than 150 million tickets per year, ensuring every line of code you write directly impacts the way millions of people experience live events—from neighborhood yoga classes to global music festivals.
  • • Own the full development lifecycle: translate product specs into technical designs, write clean and testable TypeScript/React front-end code, craft performant Python or Go back-end services, instrument observability, and ship to production multiple times per week behind feature flags.
  • • Design and evolve RESTful and GraphQL APIs that serve both our public third-party developers and our internal web and mobile clients, maintaining backward compatibility while continuously rolling out new capabilities like dynamic pricing, wait-lists, and real-time seat maps.
  • • Collaborate in a fully-remote, cross-functional squad alongside product managers, UX designers, data scientists, and customer support to prioritize experiments that move core metrics such as conversion rate, page load time, and creator satisfaction.
  • • Optimize for scale and reliability: profile database queries, introduce caching layers (Redis, Memcached), tune CDN configurations, and participate in on-call rotations to ensure our platform stays resilient during global on-sales that can spike traffic 20Ă— in minutes.
  • • Champion accessibility and inclusive design—every component you build must meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards so that attendees with disabilities can discover and attend events without barriers.
  • • Contribute to our evolving micro-service architecture by extracting legacy monolith code into well-defined services, leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform on AWS while keeping operational overhead low through automated CI/CD pipelines in GitHub Actions.
  • • Mentor junior engineers through pair programming, thorough code reviews, and lunch-and-learn sessions; your feedback will shape the next generation of Eventbrite technologists.
  • • Instrument and analyze A/B tests using Amplitude and Looker; iterate rapidly based on data to improve funnel metrics, from search autocomplete latency to post-purchase upsell acceptance.
  • • Build internal tools that empower our 1,000+ event creators to manage inventory, scan tickets offline, and access real-time sales dashboards—turning their feedback into features that differentiate Eventbrite in a crowded market.
  • • Stay curious: evaluate new frameworks, propose architectural improvements, and prototype emerging technologies (e.g., edge computing, WebAssembly) that could give our users a magical experience while keeping operational costs in check.
  • • Foster a culture of psychological safety and continuous learning; participate in guilds, blameless post-mortems, and quarterly hack weeks where bold ideas like NFT ticketing or AI-powered event recommendations become reality.
