Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Fund Analyst to join our innovative team and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of AI-driven investment analysis. This is a unique opportunity to be the definitive quality bar for all outputs generated by our cutting-edge AI platform, ensuring they are not just comparable to, but surpass, the standards set by top-tier investment consultants.
- • Your primary responsibility will be to elevate the accuracy, depth, and strategic relevance of our AI-generated fund analysis reports, manager scores, extracted terms, and identified red flags. You will act as the critical human element, ensuring that every piece of analysis is indistinguishable from, and ultimately superior to, what a seasoned investment professional would produce.
- • This is far more than a back-office quality assurance position. You will be instrumental in shaping the product's direction by proactively identifying critical gaps in our analytical frameworks, pinpointing flaws in our scoring logic, and understanding the precise information Limited Partners (LPs) require to make informed allocation decisions.
- • You will collaborate closely and directly with our engineering and AI teams, translating your deep domain expertise into actionable product improvements and new feature development. Your insights will directly inform the evolution of our technology, making it more powerful and aligned with the real-world needs of institutional investors.
- • A key part of your role will involve meticulously reviewing AI-generated fund reports against rigorous institutional-grade standards. You will identify deficiencies in analytical depth, accuracy, framing, and overall structure, ensuring that our outputs meet the highest professional benchmarks. You will be the gatekeeper who ensures that our analysis would "never fly in an IC memo" if it were not up to par.
- • You will also be responsible for evaluating the quality of document classification and extraction performed by our AI. This includes auditing the accuracy of parsing for various document types such as Due Diligence Questionnaires (DDQs), pitch decks, and other critical fund documents. You will assess whether the AI correctly identifies and extracts the right fields, whether it misses crucial information, and whether it misinterprets specific terms or clauses.
- • Furthermore, you will play a vital role in improving our scoring and benchmarking models. Our platform assigns scores to funds across multiple dimensions, and you will rigorously pressure-test the underlying methodology. Your task will be to identify potential blind spots in these scoring systems and propose data-driven refinements that accurately reflect how LPs actually evaluate and compare investment managers.
- • You will be instrumental in defining and establishing what constitutes "good" output. This involves creating comprehensive reference examples, developing clear style guides, and establishing rubrics that set the benchmark for AI output quality. You will build the essential evaluation framework that the engineering team will use to measure and track improvements in AI performance.
- • A significant aspect of your contribution will be translating the practical realities of the LP workflow into concrete product requirements. Your intimate understanding of how diligence processes actually function—the critical questions LPs ask, the comparative analyses that drive allocation decisions, and the subtle red flags that can derail a deal—will be invaluable in shaping our product roadmap.
- • You will also contribute to building our fund intelligence content. This includes participating in the development of community features such as anonymous LP intelligence channels, sentiment analysis tools, and structured reference frameworks that aggregate and disseminate valuable market insights.
- • Finally, you will be expected to stay abreast of the latest market trends. This involves continuously monitoring shifts in fund terms, significant GP movements, evolving investment strategies, and relevant regulatory changes that should inform how our platform surfaces and presents intelligence to users.
🎯 Requirements
- • 3–6 years of experience in institutional fund diligence, specifically within investment consulting firms (e.g., Cambridge Associates, Aksia, Mercer, Aon, Meketa, NEPC, Callan), as an LP allocator (e.g., pension fund, endowment, sovereign wealth fund, family office), or at a fund-of-funds.
- • Deep fluency and practical experience with a wide range of fund document types, including DDQs, PPMs, pitch decks, quarterly reports, capital call notices, side letters, and K-1s. You should have a proven ability to interpret these documents, understand their implications, and identify hidden risks or opportunities.
- • Demonstrated multi-strategy exposure, with experience evaluating funds across at least three of the following asset classes: venture capital, growth equity, buyout, credit, real estate, infrastructure, hedge funds, or secondaries.
- • Exceptional analytical writing skills, with a proven ability to articulate complex fund-level insights clearly, concisely, and persuasively. Your written work should be of a caliber that is highly valued and frequently referenced by peers and stakeholders.
- • Strong pattern recognition abilities for identifying investment red flags. This includes an instinctive understanding of issues such as missing attribution, anomalous J-curve performance relative to vintage year, non-standard fund terms, or overly optimistic GP narratives.
- • Comfort and proficiency with technology, including the ability to articulate technical requirements to engineering teams and collaborate effectively on product development. While coding is not required, a foundational understanding of AI/LLM capabilities is a significant advantage.
🏖️ Benefits
- • Opportunity to shape a groundbreaking AI product in institutional investing, directly influencing its direction and capabilities.
- • A foundational role with the chance to build and own the fund intelligence quality practice from the ground up.
- • Potential for outsized impact, as improvements made will scale across all users of the platform, reaching a broad audience of LPs.
- • Early-stage equity in a company focused on building the essential infrastructure layer for institutional investing.
- • Collaboration with a small, highly technical, and fast-shipping team, characterized by a lack of bureaucracy and lengthy planning cycles.
- • Competitive compensation package including a salary range of $140,000-$190,000 annually, dependent on experience, skills, location, and other factors.
