Full Job Description
đź“‹ Description
- • Own the full fundraising cycle for GiveDirectly, turning our audacious goal—proving that direct cash is the most effective way to end extreme poverty—into a compelling narrative that unlocks tens of millions in new capital every year.
- • Build and manage a diverse portfolio of 100+ high-net-worth individuals, family foundations, and institutional partners, guiding them from first conversation to multi-year, six- and seven-figure commitments.
- • Design and run data-driven campaigns that translate rigorous impact evidence (e.g., 27% reduction in domestic violence, 64% increase in business revenues) into emotionally resonant stories, emails, decks, and events that convert prospects into lifelong champions.
- • Partner with our research, field, and finance teams to create bespoke proposals, budgets, and impact reports that satisfy the strictest due-diligence standards of major foundations and impact-investment funds.
- • Experiment relentlessly: A/B test messaging, pilot new donor-advised-fund (DAF) strategies, launch giving circles, and pioneer crypto-donation flows—then scale whatever moves the revenue needle fastest.
- • Represent GiveDirectly at global convenings (UNGA, TED, SOCAP, Aspen Ideas) and in top-tier media (NYT, FT, Economist), positioning our leadership as the definitive voice on unconditional cash transfers.
- • Build and mentor a high-performing fundraising squad (currently 3 FTEs, projected to double in 18 months) by setting OKRs, running weekly pipeline reviews, and investing in professional development.
- • Leverage our tech stack—Salesforce, HubSpot, Tableau—to maintain 99% CRM hygiene, forecast revenue within 5% accuracy, and surface real-time insights that steer executive decisions.
- • Collaborate with the COO to model three-year growth scenarios (base, stretch, moonshot) and translate them into quarterly fundraising targets that align with field-expansion roadmaps in Kenya, Malawi, Liberia, and disaster-response zones.
- • Champion donor stewardship rituals: personalized impact videos from recipients, quarterly “Cash in Action” webinars, and immersive field visits that turn supporters into evangelists with a 90%+ renewal rate.
- • Serve as the connective tissue between finance, programs, and communications—ensuring every dollar raised is deployed ethically, tracked transparently, and celebrated publicly to reinforce trust and momentum.
- • Contribute to thought-leadership content—white papers, op-eds, and podcast appearances—that shapes sector norms and keeps GiveDirectly at the forefront of evidence-based philanthropy.

The organization advocates for cash as a benchmark in international aid and influences governments and NGOs to adopt direct-giving models.
