• • In this role, you will not be designing games or creating new assets from scratch in the conventional sense. Instead, your primary responsibility will be to act as a crucial bridge between human artistic intuition and artificial intelligence. You will use your hands-on experience with pixel art, sprite creation, and 2D game asset design to meticulously evaluate AI-generated content. Your feedback will be instrumental in training AI models, helping them to better comprehend visual tasks, understand artistic workflows, and ultimately produce higher-quality game art.

• • The ideal candidate is an experienced LibreSprite user who has actively worked in or adjacent to roles such as Pixel Artist, Game Artist, Indie Game Developer, 2D Animator, or Game Asset Designer. You should possess a deep understanding of the nuances of pixel art and 2D game asset creation, with a proven track record of producing high-quality visual content.
• • Your day-to-day tasks will involve utilizing your LibreSprite expertise to formulate insightful tool-related questions. You will then critically review the AI-generated responses, assessing their accuracy, relevance, and adherence to real-world pixel art and game asset workflows. This requires a sharp analytical mind and the ability to translate complex artistic concepts into clear, actionable feedback for the AI.
• • You will be expected to annotate or label game art assets, ensuring they meet specific criteria. Furthermore, you will create game assets based on provided style guides or project briefs, demonstrating your ability to adapt to different artistic directions and project requirements. A significant part of the role involves reviewing game art for quality, accuracy, and stylistic consistency, ensuring that the AI's output aligns with established artistic standards.
• • No prior AI or advanced technical experience is necessary. Handshake Technologies is committed to providing opportunities for artists to contribute their unique skills. • • This is a fully remote, independent contractor position. You can work from anywhere in the USA, provided you have a reliable internet connection and a desktop or laptop computer. The schedule is highly flexible and asynchronous, meaning you can work when it suits you best, with no minimum hour requirement. Many contributors find they can comfortably dedicate approximately 5–20 hours per week when actively engaged in a project.
