Full Job Description

šŸ“‹ Description

  • • We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated General Adjuster to join our esteemed team, focusing on property claims within the Greater Boston area and Eastern Massachusetts. This role is pivotal in delivering exceptional service to our valued members and independent agency partners, embodying our commitment to operational excellence and a seamless customer experience.
  • • As a General Adjuster, you will be the primary point of contact for our members, guiding them through the claims process with empathy, efficiency, and accuracy. Your responsibilities will encompass the full lifecycle of a property claim, from the initial First Notice of Loss (FNOL) and claim assignment through to its final resolution.
  • • A core aspect of your role will involve meticulously determining coverage details, assessing damages, establishing appropriate reserves, and ultimately resolving claims in a manner that uphns our high standards of quality, efficiency, customer service, and regulatory compliance.
  • • You will represent Pure Group Holdings Inc. with professionalism and integrity in all interactions, whether with members, agents, or internal stakeholders across departments such as underwriting, product management, and finance. Building and maintaining strong relationships with these parties is crucial for fostering trust and ensuring smooth operations.
  • • Your expertise will be called upon to respond to a wide range of inquiries from members, agents, and various vendors, including independent adjusters, appraisers, salvage companies, rental agencies, and legal counsel (defense and plaintiff attorneys). Your ability to communicate clearly and effectively will be paramount in navigating these complex relationships.
  • • A significant part of your day-to-day will involve the critical task of determining coverage applicability based on policy terms and conditions, thoroughly appraising and assessing property damage, and setting accurate financial reserves to manage claim payouts effectively.
  • • You will also be responsible for managing subrogation opportunities on closed files, identifying potential recoveries, and working to recoup costs where applicable, thereby contributing to the financial health of the organization.
  • • The role requires a proactive approach to risk assessment, including appraising and assessing new risks and contributing to our Catastrophe (CAT) planning efforts. Your insights will help us prepare for and mitigate the impact of large-scale events.
  • • You will be empowered with the authority to make sound coverage determinations, set and adjust claim reserves, provide timely status updates to all relevant parties (agents, members, vendors), and authorize payments for loss costs and loss adjustment expenses, demonstrating your trusted expertise.
  • • In some instances, you may need to physically inspect damaged properties, which could involve entering buildings and climbing ladders to assess roof damage. This hands-on aspect of the role requires a commitment to safety and a willingness to perform necessary site assessments.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to work remotely within Eastern Massachusetts, providing flexibility while maintaining a strong connection to our member base. You will be expected to travel consistently within your assigned territory to visit members' homes and assess properties, ensuring a personal and responsive claims handling experience.
  • • We are looking for individuals who are not only technically proficient but also possess strong interpersonal skills, a genuine passion for customer service, and a commitment to upholding the values of Pure Group Holdings Inc. – a member-owned insurer dedicated to providing exceptional service, hospitality, and care.
  • • Your ability to work independently, manage your time effectively, and maintain a high level of organization will be key to your success in this role. You will be an agile learner, capable of quickly absorbing new information and applying it to diverse business situations.
  • • We foster a culture of continuous learning and development, encouraging our team members to pursue professional insurance designations such as AIC or CPCU. While not mandatory, actively working towards or holding such designations is highly valued and considered a significant plus.
  • • Ultimately, this role is about more than just processing claims; it's about building trust, providing peace of mind, and reinforcing our mission to create a membership experience so compelling that our members never want to leave. You will be instrumental in ensuring our members love their insurance.

šŸŽÆ Requirements

  • • Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel) and familiarity with claims management software.
  • • Ability to inspect and assess property damage, including potential entry into damaged buildings and climbing ladders.
  • • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
  • • Excellent interpersonal, listening, organizational, written, and oral communication skills, with a proven ability to build rapport and manage relationships effectively.
  • • Demonstrated integrity, team spirit, enthusiasm, and the ability to establish trust and credibility.
  • • Agile learner with the capacity to quickly absorb new information and apply it to business situations.
