- • Handle property claims with precision, ensuring accuracy, efficiency, customer service, and full regulatory compliance in all interactions.
- • Represent the company in communications with members, independent agents, vendors (including adjusters, appraisers, salvage companies, rental agencies), defense attorneys, and plaintiff attorneys.
- • Manage the full claims lifecycle from first notice of loss through claim assignment, coverage determination, damage assessment, reserve setting, and final resolution.
- • Conduct on-site inspections of damaged properties, including entering structures and climbing ladders to evaluate roof and structural damage.
- • Resolve claims involving complex coverage questions, loss cost payments, and loss adjustment expenses with appropriate authority and documentation.
- • Manage subrogation processes on closed claims to recover costs from responsible third parties.
- • Appraise and assess new risks, including participation in catastrophe planning and response efforts as needed.
- • Provide timely status updates to agents, members, and vendors regarding claim progress and decisions.
- • Make independent reserve decisions on individual claim files based on analysis of damages, policy terms, and historical data.
- • Maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders including underwriting, product management, and finance teams to ensure alignment on claim outcomes.
- • Demonstrate exceptional interpersonal, listening, organizational, and communication skills—both written and oral—in all customer and stakeholder interactions.
- • Exhibit strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities when evaluating claims and resolving disputes.
- • Utilize MS Office applications (Word, Excel) and web-based systems to document claims, track progress, and generate reports.
- • Travel consistently within an assigned geographic territory to visit members’ homes and inspect damaged properties.
- • Work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining strict adherence to company standards and regulatory requirements.
- • Maintain active state adjuster licenses and complete required continuing education credits in compliance with state regulations.
- • Demonstrate integrity, team spirit, and enthusiasm while building trust and credibility with members and partners.
- • Quickly learn and apply new information to evolving business needs and claim scenarios.
