- • Lead end-to-end global commodity strategy for engineered, high-value categories including structural steel, conveyors, and custom-fabricated systems, aligning sourcing plans with business growth forecasts and project pipeline demands.
- • Analyze global market conditions such as raw material trends, fabrication capacity, labor availability, geopolitical risks, and supply chain dynamics to inform commercial and sourcing decisions.
- • Develop and execute multi-year sourcing, cost reduction, capacity, and supplier development strategies to ensure long-term supply continuity and cost competitiveness.
- • Establish category roadmaps focused on innovation, operational scalability, and supply risk mitigation across a complex global supplier base.
- • Monitor commodity indices and market intelligence to proactively manage pricing strategies and commercial risk exposure.
- • Identify, evaluate, qualify, and develop strategic supplier partnerships across international markets, ensuring alignment with technical and commercial requirements.
- • Lead complex commercial negotiations for master service agreements (MSAs), pricing structures, escalation clauses, long-term agreements, and risk-sharing models.
- • Drive supplier performance management programs focused on quality, delivery, capacity, responsiveness, and continuous improvement across key suppliers.
- • Influence supplier investment decisions, manufacturing capabilities, and capacity planning to support business growth and project demands.
- • Implement dual-sourcing and risk mitigation strategies for constrained or high-risk supply markets to ensure operational continuity.
- • Apply advanced technical knowledge of fabrication processes, structural steel systems, engineered assemblies, coatings, welding, and industrial manufacturing methodologies to assess manufacturability and cost drivers.
- • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and technical requirements to support design-to-cost, value engineering, standardization, and optimization initiatives.
- • Partner closely with Engineering, Sales, Operations, Estimating, and Project Management teams to influence product design, bid development, and make-versus-buy decisions.
- • Evaluate total cost of ownership (TCO) and lifecycle impacts of sourcing decisions to optimize long-term value.
- • Serve as the primary commodity liaison across cross-functional teams, providing commercial and technical expertise to support project execution and feasibility assessments.
- • Deliver executive-level updates on market conditions, supplier health, supply risks, and strategic initiatives to senior leadership.
- • Act as the escalation point for critical supplier, commercial, or supply continuity issues impacting project timelines or costs.
- • Define and standardize sourcing processes, category playbooks, negotiation frameworks, and supplier governance models to drive consistency and scalability.
- • Lead procurement best practices and process improvements across global sourcing operations.
- • Mentor and develop other procurement professionals and category managers to build organizational capability in strategic sourcing and supplier management.
- • Operate with full autonomy and strategic ownership, recognized as the enterprise subject matter expert in assigned commodity markets.
- • Drive measurable enterprise impact across cost reduction, risk mitigation, supplier performance, innovation, and capacity planning.
- • Balance technical, operational, and commercial priorities in a fast-paced, project-driven environment with multiple concurrent engineering-to-order initiatives.
