📋 Description

• The Monad Foundation is seeking a highly organized, creatively driven, and results-oriented Global Events professional to spearhead our international event strategy and execution. As a key member of our dedicated ecosystem and community-building team, you will play a pivotal role in amplifying the impact of decentralized technologies, specifically by showcasing the capabilities of the Monad blockchain – a performant and parallel EVM Layer 1 designed to empower decentralized applications and drive mass adoption.
• This role is responsible for the end-to-end ownership of the Monad Foundation's global event presence. You will be instrumental in crafting and implementing a comprehensive event strategy that aligns with our core initiatives and priorities. This includes identifying opportunities for both long-term, recurring events and scalable, impactful one-off activations that resonate with our diverse target audiences.
• You will meticulously plan and flawlessly execute a wide spectrum of events, ranging from intimate, high-touch gatherings for key stakeholders to large-scale, multi-day international conferences. Your remit will encompass hosted events that we initiate and manage, as well as sponsored events where we are a key participant, ensuring a consistent and exceptional Monad experience across all touchpoints.
• A critical aspect of this role involves defining clear event goals, establishing Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), and identifying robust success metrics. You will leverage data and insights to conduct thorough post-event analyses, measuring outcomes against objectives and identifying areas for continuous improvement to maximize event impact and return on investment (ROI).
• Building and nurturing strong relationships with vendors, agencies, and other external partners will be paramount. You will be responsible for negotiating favorable vendor contracts, overseeing financial reconciliation post-event, and ensuring that all external collaborations contribute to the overall success and quality of our events.
• Collaboration with leadership and key internal stakeholders across various departments will be essential. You will work closely with these teams to deliver experiences that not only meet but exceed expectations, effectively capturing and maximizing ROI in alignment with departmental objectives. This includes understanding and adapting to regional nuances, cultural considerations, and venue-specific requirements to ensure each event is both locally resonant and operationally sound.
• Operational excellence is at the core of this position. You will develop and maintain standardized operational procedures and playbooks to ensure consistent branding, messaging, and ambiance across all event types. This commitment to quality will be evident in every stage of event planning, production, and execution.
• Resourcefulness and a proactive approach to problem-solving will be key. You will demonstrate an ability to make sound decisions under pressure and drive workstreams to completion without compromising the high standards expected of the Monad Foundation.
• The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker with a passion for creating memorable experiences that foster community, drive engagement, and support the growth of the Monad ecosystem. You possess a keen eye for detail, a creative flair for design, and the ability to translate abstract ideas into tangible, impactful event realities.
• Your responsibilities will include managing event budgets with a prudent spend philosophy, ensuring financial accountability and optimal resource allocation. You will be the central point of contact for all event-related logistics, from initial concept development through to post-event debriefing and reporting.
• This role offers a unique opportunity to shape the global perception and impact of a groundbreaking blockchain technology. You will be at the forefront of community engagement, connecting builders, developers, users, tokenholders, and Web2 and Web3 organizations with the Monad ecosystem.
• You will be expected to stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in event management to continuously innovate and elevate the Monad event experience. Your work will directly contribute to the Monad Foundation's mission of massively growing the impact of decentralized tech.
• Ultimately, you will be the guardian of the Monad event experience worldwide, ensuring that every interaction, whether virtual or in-person, reflects the innovation, quality, and forward-thinking ethos of the Monad blockchain.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum 7 years of significant event planning experience, including ownership of complex events from conception to completion and management of direction and execution of both small and large-scale, multi-day events.
• Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, demonstrate resourcefulness in decision-making, and drive workstreams to completion while maintaining high standards.
• Exceptional command of time management, communication (verbal and written), project management, and prioritization skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across cultures and time zones.
• Experience with events across multiple geographic locations and time zones, including comfort with navigating cultural or language barriers and the ability to be onsite as the designated POC for events, with up to 30% travel required domestically and internationally.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think quickly under pressure and knowledge of fabrication, event technology, AV production, and digital integration.
• Preferred experience building events within the Web3 crypto industry and experience working within fast-paced startup environments.
