  • • As Global Payroll Manager at Tools for Humanity Corporation, you will own end-to-end payroll operations worldwide, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant compensation for employees across all entities. This role is mission-critical infrastructure as the company scales globally, serving as the operational authority for payroll in the U.S. through Workday and internationally via in-country providers.
  • • Day to day, you will process full-cycle U.S. payroll in Workday for multi-state, exempt and non-exempt populations, manage the OneSource Virtual (OSV) partnership to meet SLAs, process token compensation with proper tax handling, oversee quarter-end and year-end activities including W-2 preparation and tax notice resolution, maintain and optimize Workday Payroll configuration, oversee international payroll in Germany, Singapore, and emerging jurisdictions, stand up payroll in new countries by selecting providers and building SOPs, partner with Accounting on journal entries and close processes, serve as the senior escalation point for complex payroll issues, and champion AI tools for reconciliation, anomaly detection, and employee support.

The Payroll function sits within the People team and partners closely with Finance, Legal, Tax, and Accounting to support global operations.
  • • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in global payroll systems, lead process optimization and automation initiatives, gain experience scaling payroll into new international jurisdictions, strengthen your influence and cross-functional leadership without direct authority, and contribute to a high-trust employee experience through reliable, compliant payroll operations at a pioneering technology company.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years of payroll experience, with at least 3 years owning U.S. multi-state payroll end-to-end at a senior or manager level
  • • Hands-on Workday Payroll experience, including configuration, reporting, and proactive gap identification
  • • Direct experience managing an outsourced payroll partner relationship (e.g., OneSource Virtual), including SLAs, service reviews, escalations, and continuous improvement
  • • Strong working knowledge of U.S. federal, multi-state, and local payroll compliance, including year-end (W-2, 1099), tax notice resolution, and registrations
  • • Demonstrated ability to thrive in fast-moving, ambiguous environments by building structure where none exists
  • • Strong cross-functional instincts: building trust, influencing without authority, and communicating clearly across Finance, People, Legal, and external partners
  • • Experience standing up payroll in a new country or new entity from scratch
  • • Experience experimenting with AI or automation tools to improve payroll workflows (reconciliation, error detection, employee support, reporting)
