- • As the Global Process Owner for Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP – Forecast to Build) at Ciena Corporation, you will own and transform a critical enterprise-wide business process that directly impacts operational agility, forecasting accuracy, and long-term business growth. This role is pivotal in aligning Sales, Finance, Operations, and Technology functions through a data-driven, technology-enabled operating model that supports accurate decision-making at the executive level.
- • You will design, govern, and continuously improve the global end-to-end S&OP process, establishing a scalable, flexible, and future-ready operating model that integrates advanced planning systems, automation, and AI/ML capabilities to enhance forecasting, scenario planning, and constraint modeling across a complex, global technology enterprise.
- • Day to day, you will lead digital transformation initiatives by partnering with technology teams to implement and optimize platforms such as Kinaxis, SAP IBP, Anaplan, or Oracle, ensuring alignment with the future-state process and driving adoption through training, governance, and change management.
- • You will define, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) that measure S&OP effectiveness, decision quality, forecast accuracy, and business outcomes, using data to identify gaps, drive accountability, and inform executive-level strategic decisions.
- • You will champion the integration of artificial intelligence and machine learning into forecasting, inventory optimization, and supply chain risk modeling, working cross-functionally to pilot and scale advanced analytics capabilities that improve responsiveness and reduce volatility.
- • You will develop and manage a continuous improvement roadmap using best-in-class methodologies (e.g., APICS, SCOR) to advance S&OP maturity, incorporating emerging technologies and feedback loops to ensure the process evolves with business needs and market dynamics.
- • You will serve as the trusted subject matter expert and advisor to senior leaders across Sales, Finance, Operations, and regional teams, facilitating cross-functional alignment, resolving conflicts, and ensuring consistent execution of the S&OP cycle globally.
- • You will establish and enforce global process governance, including clear roles, responsibilities, decision rights, and escalation paths, to ensure accountability, standardization, and compliance across all regions and business units.
- • You will partner with the Enterprise Transformation Office to embed S&OP as a core executive-led business management process, influencing culture, driving adoption, and demonstrating measurable impact on working capital, service levels, and revenue forecast accuracy.
- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in enterprise-scale transformation, gain visibility with C-suite leaders, and build a legacy of process excellence that enhances Ciena’s ability to innovate, scale, and respond to market demands with speed and precision—positioning you as a strategic leader in supply chain and operations transformation.
