  • • As Global Sales Director for Novanta’s Positioning Solutions business, you will lead the commercial organization and steer global revenue strategy for a mission-critical technology portfolio that powers life-saving medical devices and advanced manufacturing systems, directly impacting healthcare outcomes and industrial innovation worldwide.
  • • You will report to the Vice President and General Manager and serve as the senior commercial leader responsible for shaping strategy, guiding execution, and ensuring alignment across regions, products, and key accounts to drive sustainable growth in core and emerging markets.
  • • Day to day, you will lead the global commercial organization, including strategy, performance management, and execution across core and emerging markets, ensuring consistent performance and accountability across all regions.
  • • You will contribute to business unit strategy and long-range planning as part of the Positioning Solutions leadership team, helping define the 3–5 year vision and resource allocation for the business.
  • • You will shape and execute the global commercial growth strategy, including market and segment prioritization, portfolio focus, and regional sequencing, translating strategic insights into actionable sales plans.
  • • You will drive expansion into new markets through global segmented business development teams, identifying and pursuing high-potential opportunities in diagnostics, life sciences, and MedTech OEM sectors.
  • • You will build, coach, and develop a high-performing global sales team with clear accountability and disciplined execution, fostering a culture of performance, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • • You will strengthen global key account plans, ensuring clear value propositions and long-term customer engagement with strategic OEM partners to increase retention and expansion revenue.
  • • You will design scalable sales operating models, including coverage, territories, channels, and role clarity, to optimize efficiency and scalability as the business grows.
  • • You will represent commercial priorities and insights in senior leadership forums, providing clear visibility into customer needs, opportunities, and risks to inform enterprise-level decision-making.
  • • You will partner with Product Management, Engineering, Operations, Finance, and regional sales leaders to align commercial plans with product and operational capabilities, ensuring go-to-market feasibility and customer-centric innovation.
  • • You will set and communicate clear priorities and expectations across global teams, ensuring alignment, transparency, and execution excellence in a distributed, remote-first environment.
  • • You will gain deep exposure to cutting-edge technologies in precision motion control, photonics, and vision systems used in robotic surgery, 3D metal printing, and laboratory automation, enhancing your strategic and technical acumen.
  • • You will develop advanced executive leadership skills in global stakeholder management, cross-functional influence, and strategic storytelling, positioning you for future C-suite opportunities within Novanta or the broader industrial technology sector.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Extensive global commercial leadership experience in life sciences, diagnostics, or medical device OEM markets.
  • • Direct experience selling or supporting component or module-level hardware within OEM development cycles, including research instrumentation, diagnostic systems, or hardware-centric MedTech OEM solutions.
  • • Ability to connect long-term strategy with near-term execution and translate direction into actionable, realistic sales priorities.
  • • Strong executive presence, analytical depth, and the ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • • Proven track record of building, coaching, and developing high-performing global sales teams with clear accountability and disciplined execution.
  • • Experience designing scalable sales operating models, including coverage, territories, channels, and role clarity, to support global expansion.

  • • Competitive base salary range of $161,600 to $241,615 annually, based on full-time employment and factors such as location, skills, experience, and education.
  • • Eligibility for performance-based incentive compensation and/or long-term incentives, which may be discretionary or non-discretionary depending on the plan.
