  • • Lead government relations strategy across the UK, Nordics, and Benelux regions to advance Shield AI’s mission of protecting service members and civilians through intelligent defense systems.
  • • Build and maintain strategic relationships with key government officials, defense ministries, procurement agencies, and military stakeholders in the UK, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Finland, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Luxembourg.
  • • Represent Shield AI in high-level policy discussions, defense exhibitions, industry forums, and government consultations related to autonomous systems, AI in defense, and military modernization.
  • • Develop and execute targeted engagement plans to align Shield AI’s Hivemind autonomy software and V-BAT/X-BAT aircraft capabilities with national defense priorities and procurement timelines in each market.
  • • Monitor legislative, regulatory, and geopolitical developments affecting defense technology adoption, export controls, and AI governance in the target regions.
  • • Collaborate with Shield AI’s sales, engineering, and legal teams to ensure government engagement activities are technically accurate, compliant, and strategically aligned with product roadmaps.
  • • Prepare and deliver briefings, white papers, policy position statements, and congressional or parliamentary testimony materials tailored to regional stakeholders.
  • • Coordinate with Shield AI’s U.S.-based government affairs team to ensure alignment on global policy initiatives and international defense partnerships.
  • • Identify and cultivate partnerships with defense contractors, think tanks, academic institutions, and industry associations to amplify Shield AI’s presence and credibility in regional defense ecosystems.
  • • Manage regional government relations budget, track engagement metrics, and report outcomes to senior leadership with clear ROI on advocacy efforts.
  • • Travel extensively within the UK, Nordics, and Benelux to attend meetings, defense events, and government hearings as required by the role.
  • • Serve as the primary point of contact for government inquiries regarding Shield AI’s technology, compliance posture, and ethical use of autonomous systems.
  • • Ensure all government relations activities adhere to international arms control regulations, export compliance standards, and corporate ethics policies.
  • • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of defense procurement processes, NATO standards, and EU defense initiatives impacting autonomous system deployment.
  • • Proactively identify opportunities for Shield AI to contribute to national security innovation programs, defense R&D funding, and public-private partnerships in the target regions.

🎯 Requirements

  • • Proven experience in government relations, defense policy, or public affairs within the UK, Nordics, or Benelux defense sectors
  • • Deep understanding of defense procurement processes, military requirements, and national security policy frameworks in at least two of the target regions
  • • Demonstrated ability to build and manage relationships with senior government officials, military leaders, and defense contractors
  • • Strong knowledge of export control regulations (e.g., ITAR, EAR, EU Dual-Use Regulations) and compliance requirements for defense technology
  • • Experience representing technology companies in high-stakes government advocacy or lobbying environments
  • • Fluency in English; proficiency in one or more languages spoken in the Nordics or Benelux is highly preferred
