- • As a Brooks Guru Field Representative, you will be the vital link between Brooks Sports, Inc. and the running community within your designated territory in Washington, D.C. Your primary mission is to elevate Brooks' presence and performance across all distribution channels, driving market share growth and maximizing product sell-through at the retail level. This role is instrumental in amplifying our product leadership, fostering deep brand recognition, building unwavering awareness, and cultivating lasting loyalty among consumers and partners alike.
- • You will be the on-the-ground embodiment of the Brooks brand, acting as a trusted advisor and product expert for retailers, consumers, and internal teams. This involves developing and executing innovative field support strategies tailored to the unique dynamics of the Washington, D.C. market. Your efforts will directly contribute to the success of our retail partners by providing them with the knowledge, tools, and support needed to effectively showcase and sell Brooks products.
- • A significant aspect of your role will be to educate and inspire retail associates, empowering them to become knowledgeable advocates for the Brooks brand. This includes conducting engaging product training sessions, demonstrating the unique features and benefits of our footwear and apparel, and sharing the Brooks story and our commitment to the runner. You will foster strong relationships with store management and staff, ensuring they feel supported and equipped to meet their sales goals.
- • Beyond direct retail engagement, you will be a key observer and reporter of market intelligence. You will meticulously track sales trends, monitor competitor activities, and gather feedback from consumers and retailers. This valuable information will be synthesized and communicated back to the Brooks sales and marketing teams, providing critical insights that inform future product development, marketing campaigns, and overall business strategy. Your observations will help us stay ahead of the curve and respond effectively to market demands.
- • You will also play a crucial role in executing brand-building initiatives within your territory. This includes identifying and participating in local running events, organizing and leading product demonstrations, and collaborating with local running clubs and influencers to expand our reach and deepen community engagement. Your presence at these events will create authentic connections and reinforce Brooks' position as a dedicated supporter of the running lifestyle.
- • The Guru Field Representative is expected to be a self-starter, highly organized, and capable of managing their time effectively to cover a broad geographic area. You will be responsible for planning your own schedule, prioritizing activities, and ensuring consistent and impactful engagement across all assigned accounts. This requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities and overcoming challenges.
- • You will serve as the primary point of contact for retailers in your territory, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a seamless experience with Brooks products and services. Building and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with our retail partners is paramount to achieving mutual success.
- • Furthermore, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining product inventory at key retail locations, ensuring that our latest innovations and core products are readily available and attractively displayed. This includes merchandising support and ensuring brand presentation standards are met.
- • The role demands a passion for running and a deep understanding of the sport and its culture. You will leverage this passion to connect authentically with the running community, sharing your knowledge and enthusiasm for Brooks products and the brand's mission to help people find their run.
- • You will be expected to live within 30 miles of the designated Washington, D.C. territory to ensure timely and effective coverage and responsiveness to the needs of the market. This proximity is essential for building strong local relationships and maximizing your impact.
- • Ultimately, your success as a Brooks Guru Field Representative will be measured by your ability to drive sales, increase brand visibility, strengthen retailer relationships, and foster a vibrant and loyal Brooks community within your territory. You are the face of Brooks in the field, and your dedication and expertise will be critical to our continued growth and success.
🎯 Requirements
- • Proven experience in sales, field marketing, or a related customer-facing role, preferably within the athletic footwear or apparel industry.
- • Deep passion for and understanding of the running industry, including knowledge of running shoes, apparel, and the broader running culture.
- • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and influence diverse audiences, from retail associates to consumers.
- • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to work independently, manage a territory, and plan and execute a demanding schedule.
- • Proficiency in using technology for reporting, communication, and data analysis (e.g., CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite).
- • Must reside within 30 miles of the designated Washington, D.C. territory.
