- • The Hakka-China Interpreter role at LanguageLine Solutions is a remote, independent contractor position that enables bilingual professionals to bridge language and cultural gaps for limited-English speakers across critical sectors such as healthcare, emergency services, government, and business.
- • Day-to-day responsibilities include responding promptly to interpreting calls, accurately conveying meaning between Hakka-China and English speakers, maintaining professionalism and neutrality during emotionally charged or high-stress interactions (including 911 calls), adhering to industry-specific protocols, and ensuring punctuality and availability during scheduled work hours.

🎯 Requirements
- • Fluency in Hakka-China and English with understanding of cultural dynamics
- • Ability to remain neutral, objective, and composed during sensitive or stressful calls
- • High school diploma or equivalent and legal authorization to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
- • Access to a quiet workspace, reliable internet (5 Mbps download, 3 Mbps upload), and a compatible device (Windows, MacOS, ChromeOS, iPadOS, or Android)
- • Preferred: Education or experience in language-related fields (teaching, translation, interpretation) and ability to read and write in Hakka-China
