- • As a Hardware Design Engineer at SPAN.IO, Inc., you will play a critical role in advancing the company’s mission to enable electrification for all by designing and developing robust power electronics and embedded systems that reduce carbon emissions and support clean energy adoption in homes and vehicles.
- • Your work will directly contribute to building resilient, all-electric homes and supporting a flexible, distributed electrical grid, making sustainable living more accessible and reliable.
- • Day to day, you will design complex analog, digital, and mixed-signal circuits with a focus on power electronics (AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC conversion), including schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout (4+ layers) using EDA tools such as Altium Designer, OrCAD, or KiCad.
- • You will perform rigorous circuit simulations using LTspice/PSpice/PSIM to validate designs before prototyping, select components based on performance, cost, and long-term availability, and manage BOM lifecycle.
- • You will lead hardware bring-up by assembling, debugging, and functionally testing PCBA prototypes using DSOs, logic analyzers, function generators, and conducting fine-pitch SMD soldering and rework as needed.
- • You will support EMI/EMC and safety pre-compliance testing, collaborate with manufacturing partners on DFM/DFA/DFT to optimize designs for high-volume fabrication and assembly, and generate comprehensive documentation including Gerber files, assembly drawings, test procedures, and technical design notes.
- • You will work closely with firmware and mechanical teams, contributing to hardware architecture discussions with a structured problem-solving approach, strong ownership of design quality, and the ability to estimate engineering effort and manage timelines for complex PCB projects.
- • You will join a mission-driven Bengaluru team that collaborates closely with global teams in the US and beyond, fostering innovation and growth in home energy solutions within a collaborative, in-office culture that values bold thinking and customer value.
- • In this role, you will deepen your expertise in power electronics, high-speed design, and embedded systems while gaining experience in compliance, manufacturing support, and cross-functional product development—positioning you to lead future innovations in electrification and sustainable technology.
🎯 Requirements
- • B.E./B.Tech or M.Tech in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
- • 3–5 years of proven experience in professional hardware product development
- • Proficiency in Altium Designer (preferred), OrCAD, or KiCad for schematic capture and multi-layer PCB layout
