📋 Description

• Lead government affairs and public policy strategy across the UK and EU, including Germany, France, Ireland, and Spain, setting market-specific strategies while coordinating cross-border initiatives.
• Build and maintain trusted relationships with health ministries, parliamentarians, EU institutions (Commission, Parliament, Council), patient organisations, and industry coalitions to advance Hims & Hers’ policy objectives.
• Develop and execute advocacy strategies on key policy issues including online prescribing, telemedicine, access to weight loss care, pharmacy regulation, digital health, AI in healthcare, and patient-centred reforms to national health systems.
• Monitor legislative, regulatory, and political developments across European markets and translate complex policy changes into clear business implications and strategic recommendations for leadership.
• Manage external consultants, agencies, and trade-association memberships to maximise policy influence and operational impact across multiple jurisdictions.
• Represent Hims & Hers in external forums, roundtables, consultations, and stakeholder meetings as the primary spokesperson on policy matters.
• Partner with Legal, Regulatory, Quality & Safety, Clinical, Marketing, Communications, and Operational teams across Europe and globally to align government affairs activities with company priorities.
• Develop coordinated engagement strategies with health authorities and regulators to support responsible innovation and sustainable patient access to Hims & Hers services.
• Support market-entry and expansion planning for new European geographies through stakeholder mapping, political risk assessment, and tailored engagement strategy development.
• Prepare policy analyses, briefing materials, position papers, and executive summaries to inform internal decision-making and external advocacy efforts.
• Lead rapid policy responses to emerging or high-sensitivity issues in close coordination with Communications and Legal teams.
• Serve as the first dedicated European Government Affairs leader, building the function, relationships, and strategic framework from the ground up.
• Leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance policy analysis, stakeholder intelligence gathering, and operational efficiency in government affairs activities.
• Navigate differences between European health systems, political cultures, and regulatory traditions with fluency and cultural awareness.
• Balance long-term strategic planning with hands-on operational execution, including detailed tracking of policy consultations, commitments, and legislative timelines.
• Influence policy through both direct stakeholder engagement and coalition-building, applying judgment to determine the most effective approach in each context.
• Communicate complex policy and regulatory dynamics with clarity to executives, regulators, and political stakeholders at all levels.
• Demonstrate sound political and commercial judgment while providing honest, confidential counsel to internal leadership.
• Maintain a deep interest in consumer health and digital health innovation, seeking to shape the broader category, not merely defend the company’s position.

🎯 Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or a closely related field with substantial work in pharmaceutical, healthcare, digital health, technology, or life sciences
• Demonstrated experience working with European healthcare systems and policy environments across multiple markets, including engagement with EU institutions and at least one major national capital
• Advanced degree in public policy, international relations, political science, law, economics, or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in German, French, or Spanish strongly preferred
• Demonstrated ability to leverage AI and emerging technologies to enhance policy analysis and stakeholder intelligence
• Prior experience leading a regional government affairs function or operating as a sole practitioner before scaling a team
