- ⢠**A pivotal leadership role driving global payroll and tax compliance excellence:** The Head of Global Payroll & Tax Compliance is a strategic and operational leader responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, and compliant processing of payroll for all employees across 15+ US state tax jurisdictions. This role is critical to Career TEAMâs mission, as it directly impacts employee satisfaction, regulatory adherence, and financial integrity. By leading a dedicated payroll team and serving as the technical subject matter expert, you will bridge US operations with the organizationâs global workforce, ensuring seamless payroll operations while mitigating risks associated with multi-state tax compliance.
- ⢠**Day-to-day responsibilities that shape payroll excellence:**
- ⢠**Team Leadership and Mentorship:** Supervise, mentor, and develop a junior payroll team, fostering their professional growth while ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of their output. Act as the final escalation point for complex tax and system issues, providing guidance and resolving challenges to maintain smooth payroll operations.
- ⢠**Multi-State Tax Compliance Mastery:** Oversee the withholding, filing, and reconciliation processes for 15+ US states, including SUTA/FUTA, FICA, and local tax nexus compliance. Lead the registration of new state tax IDs and manage compliance across a growing US footprint, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
- ⢠**Payroll System Optimization:** Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ADP Workforce Now, driving system integration, data integrity, and process improvements. Leverage advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, Macros) to enhance reporting, automation, and scalability of payroll functions.
- ⢠**Strategic Compliance and Audit Leadership:** Lead responses to federal and state tax notices, garnishments, and year-end reconciliations (W-2/W-3). Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including audits, and provide the C-suite with accurate, timely reports on payroll trends, 401k contributions, and audit findings.
- ⢠**Process Engineering and Automation:** Transform the payroll function from manual processes to automated, scalable solutions. Identify inefficiencies, implement best practices, and drive continuous improvement to enhance operational excellence.
