Act as the final escalation point for complex tax and system issues, providing guidance and resolving challenges to maintain smooth payroll operations.
• • **Multi-State Tax Compliance Mastery:** Oversee the withholding, filing, and reconciliation processes for 15+ US states, including SUTA/FUTA, FICA, and local tax nexus compliance. Lead the registration of new state tax IDs and manage compliance across a growing US footprint, ensuring adherence to federal, state, and local regulations.
• • **Payroll System Optimization:** Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for ADP Workforce Now, driving system integration, data integrity, and process improvements. Leverage advanced Excel skills (e.g., Pivot Tables, V-Lookups, Macros) to enhance reporting, automation, and scalability of payroll functions.
• • **Strategic Compliance and Audit Leadership:** Lead responses to federal and state tax notices, garnishments, and year-end reconciliations (W-2/W-3). Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements, including audits, and provide the C-suite with accurate, timely reports on payroll trends, 401k contributions, and audit findings.
