We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Head of Health Systems to spearhead our go-to-market strategy and execution within this critical segment. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a dedicated team from the ground up, acting as both a strategic player and an inspiring coach.
  • • As the Head of Health Systems, you will be instrumental in defining and executing Stedi's growth strategy for large provider organizations, including health systems and academic medical centers. Your primary focus will be on establishing Stedi as the premier solution for modernizing their healthcare transaction exchange processes. You will own the entire sales cycle, from initial outreach and opportunity identification to closing complex, long-term deals.
  • • Your mission is to build and scale Stedi's go-to-market motion for health systems. This involves acting as a true owner – defining the overarching strategy, meticulously building the sales pipeline, and successfully closing deals. Once momentum is gained and the playbook is proven, you will recruit and lead a high-performing health systems sales team.
  • • A core responsibility will be to develop the comprehensive "health systems playbook." This entails identifying and prioritizing target accounts, refining and creating compelling sales collateral, developing clear and persuasive positioning, defining a scalable sales process, and meticulously documenting best practices and successful strategies to ensure the playbook can be effectively replicated and expanded upon by future team members.
  • • You will be responsible for creating a sense of urgency and articulating clear, quantifiable business cases for clearinghouse modernization. This will involve demonstrating how Stedi's innovative solutions address the financial, operational, and technical priorities of our target health system clients, highlighting the tangible benefits of adopting a programmable clearinghouse.
  • • Collaboration is key to success in this role. You will work closely with Stedi’s product and engineering teams, serving as the internal voice of the health systems market. Your insights will be crucial in translating complex health system requirements and pain points into actionable input for the product roadmap, ensuring our offerings remain at the forefront of industry needs.
  • • You will also partner with the marketing team to develop segment-specific positioning, create impactful content, and design effective demand generation strategies tailored to the unique needs and decision-making processes of health system buyers.
  • • Furthermore, you will maintain close working relationships with our customer success, enrollment, and payer operations teams. This collaboration is essential to ensure that all deals are structured for seamless implementation, successful adoption, and sustained long-term expansion and partnership with our health system clients.
  • • As the business grows, you will take on the critical responsibility of hiring, onboarding, and leading a dedicated health systems sales team. You will foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement, empowering your team to achieve ambitious sales targets.
  • • This role requires a deep understanding of the healthcare revenue cycle management (RCM) workflows, claims routing processes, and the technical architecture involved in healthcare IT integrations. You must be able to engage credibly with both business and technical stakeholders within health systems.
  • • You will manage the entire sales cycle from initial outreach through to the signing of contracts with health systems, academic medical centers, and other medium-to-large provider organizations. This includes prospecting, qualification, discovery, proposal development, negotiation, and closing.
  • • The ideal candidate possesses a builder mentality, demonstrating the autonomy and ownership necessary to develop new initiatives from the ground up. While people management experience is a plus, the ability to operate independently and drive results is paramount.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years of experience selling technology or services directly into health systems, academic medical centers, and medium-to-large provider organizations, specifically targeting revenue cycle, IT, or operations teams.
  • • Proven track record of sales excellence, consistently exceeding targets and demonstrating exceptional performance in complex, long-cycle sales environments. Ability to build trusted relationships with C-suite and VP-level buyers.
  • • Deep understanding of the health systems landscape, including key decision-makers, budget flows, and the operational dynamics that drive organizational change. A strong existing network within the health systems sector is highly desirable.
  • • Proficiency in speaking the language of healthcare IT and operations, including familiarity with RCM workflows, claims routing, and technical integration architectures.
  • • Demonstrated builder mentality with a capacity for operating with autonomy and ownership, capable of developing strategies and processes from inception.
  • • Relentless resourcefulness, self-motivation, curiosity, and discipline to drive results independently.
