Full Job Description

šŸ“‹ Description

  • • At Chamber Cardio, we are on a mission to revolutionize cardiovascular care by shifting the focus from patient volume to patient outcomes. We are building a future where success in cardiology is defined by the quality of care delivered, not just the number of procedures performed. Our innovative model integrates cutting-edge technology, data-driven insights, and operational excellence to empower independent cardiologists to lead population health initiatives within their communities. We believe that by combining advanced AI tools with a deep commitment to human-centered care, we can significantly transform heart health on a national scale.
  • • As the Head of Informatics, you will be instrumental in constructing and leading our clinical data infrastructure – the very backbone of our cardiology operations and the intelligence center for our clinical decision-making. This pivotal role involves managing our backend clinical ontologies, architecting and scaling our sophisticated clinical and operational rules engine, and spearheading the development of our clinical program recommendation engine. You will be a key player in translating complex cardiology and care management concepts into robust, production-grade data models, algorithms, and essential decision-support tools.
  • • Your expertise will bridge the gap between deep clinical informatics knowledge, extensive experience in Value-Based Care (VBC), and strong applied data science and statistical capabilities. You will work collaboratively to ensure our technological solutions directly support our clinical model and drive better patient outcomes. This is a unique opportunity to build from the ground up, navigate ambiguity with clarity, and leverage AI as a powerful catalyst for enhancing clinical impact.
  • • **Strategy & Leadership:**
  • • You will be responsible for defining and owning the informatics and data science roadmap, ensuring its direct alignment with achieving key cardiology VBC outcomes, including Total Cost of Care (TCoC), utilization efficiency, quality metrics, and ultimately, improved patient health outcomes.
  • • You will lead and facilitate cross-functional initiatives, collaborating closely with our Clinical, Operations, Product, and Engineering teams. This collaboration will span the entire lifecycle of projects, from initial problem definition and conceptualization through to implementation, ongoing iteration, and optimization.
  • • You will be expected to clearly and effectively communicate the performance, potential risks, and strategic roadmap of our data models and rules engine to executive leadership and key clinical stakeholders, fostering transparency and informed decision-making.
  • • **Clinical Ontologies & Rules Engine:**
  • • You will define, establish, and meticulously maintain unified clinical concepts, patient cohorts, and event definitions. This critical work will ensure data consistency and accuracy across diverse data sources, including claims data, Electronic Health Records (EHR), and other relevant datasets, in close partnership with other technology team members.
  • • You will architect, refine, and continuously improve the rules engine, which is essential for operationalizing our cardiology programs. A primary focus will be on developing sophisticated logic to recommend personalized, patient-specific care pathways.
  • • You will translate the intricate design of clinical programs into executable rules, scoring mechanisms, and trigger events. These will be seamlessly integrated into our product offerings, external APIs, and the daily workflows of our care teams, ensuring practical and impactful application.
  • • **Recommendation Engine & Data Science:**
  • • You will lead the design and development of an advanced recommendation engine. This engine will be capable of suggesting optimal programs, timely interventions, and the most effective next-best-actions for both cardiology patients and the providers who care for them.
  • • You will own the applied data science strategy, encompassing feature engineering, model selection, rigorous evaluation methodologies, and ongoing performance monitoring. You will partner closely with our Data Science/ML and Engineering teams to ensure the successful deployment and integration of these models into our production environment.
  • • You will continuously monitor model performance, assessing aspects such as calibration, data drift, potential bias, and clinical relevance. Iterations and improvements will be driven by observed outcomes and valuable feedback from clinicians. Furthermore, you will proactively identify and explore safe, high-value applications of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) within our clinical context.
  • • **Execution, Infrastructure & Team Building:**
  • • You will define and implement robust processes and standards for informatics and data science work, ensuring they are scalable and suitable for our dynamic startup environment.
  • • You will collaborate closely with our Engineering and MLOps teams to define and meet the requirements for our analytics and ML infrastructure, ensuring a stable and efficient technical foundation.
  • • Initially, you will operate as a hands-on leader, deeply involved in the technical execution. As the team grows, you will be responsible for recruiting, mentoring, and developing a small, high-leverage team of talented informaticists, analysts, and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.
