đź“‹ Description

  • • As the Head of Policy for Europe/UK at Adyen, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of payments and financial services across two of the world's most dynamic economic regions. This senior, externally facing role is pivotal to Adyen's growth and resilience, demanding a strategic approach to policy engagement that fosters innovation while ensuring a safe and sound financial ecosystem.
  • • You will be responsible for developing and executing Adyen's policy agenda across the European Union and the United Kingdom. This involves identifying key policy priorities that facilitate cross-border commerce, reduce friction in payments and banking, and promote greater harmonization and competition within the European market. Your work will directly impact Adyen's ability to operate and expand, making it easier for our global customers to transact seamlessly.
  • • A critical aspect of this role is the ability to bridge the gap between policy and product development. You will collaborate closely with internal teams, including Product, Regulatory, Legal, Compliance, and Risk, to translate complex regulatory changes into tangible product opportunities and to proactively manage potential risks. This ensures that Adyen's product roadmaps are informed by, and contribute to, practical and workable policy outcomes.
  • • You will serve as Adyen's primary representative in high-stakes policy forums, cultivating and maintaining trusted, senior-level relationships with key stakeholders. This includes EU and UK regulators, central banks, and policymakers. Your ability to engage with credibility and sound judgment will be crucial in advocating for Adyen's positions and influencing regulatory direction.
  • • The role requires you to produce high-quality external communications. Working in tandem with our Regulatory and Communications teams, you will be responsible for drafting Adyen's official positions, driving responses to consultations, preparing impactful submissions, and delivering compelling briefings that directly benefit our business and our extensive customer base.
  • • Beyond direct advocacy, you will play a key role in building Adyen's thought leadership and fostering strategic coalitions. This involves strengthening Adyen's voice within influential industry groups and among ecosystem partners, championing a pragmatic policy agenda that supports both technological innovation and robust safeguards for the financial system.
  • • You will also be tasked with enabling customer participation in policy discussions. By collaborating with our Regulatory and Commercial teams, you will create targeted opportunities for merchants and platforms to engage in policy dialogues through well-organized briefings, roundtables, and aligned advocacy efforts, ensuring their perspectives are heard and considered.
  • • This position offers a unique opportunity to influence the evolution of modern payments policy at a senior level. You will have direct impact on regulatory outcomes that are critical for global commerce and the future of the payments industry. Your insights and strategic direction will be valued at the highest levels of Adyen, translating policy considerations into tangible growth, enhanced resilience, and increased customer value.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a strategic vision for how Europe and the UK can achieve their economic and simplification goals within the financial sector. You will be adept at translating intricate technical requirements into clear, defensible policy positions, demonstrating a pragmatic, outcomes-driven approach with sharp judgment and unwavering credibility.
  • • You will embody the Adyen Formula: taking ownership of your responsibilities, working collaboratively as one team, seeking clarity in complex situations, and consistently delivering excellence in all aspects of your work. This role is based in our London or Brussels office, reflecting Adyen's commitment to office-first collaboration and in-person teamwork.
