📋 Description
- • As the Head of PR & Communications at Directive Consulting LLC, you will serve as a senior player-coach leading the company’s communications division, responsible for defining and executing how B2B and SaaS clients achieve visibility and credibility across PR, influencer strategy, and organic social channels. This role is pivotal in scaling a growing practice area within a leading marketing agency known for solving complex B2B advertising challenges for enterprise brands.
- • You will partner directly with the Managing Director to operate and grow the communications division, acting as the executive sponsor for mid-market and enterprise B2B accounts, setting the standard for excellence, managing division P&L, and ensuring consistent delivery of high-impact, measurable communications programs that align with client business outcomes.

- • In this role, you will develop deep expertise in scaling a communications practice within a high-performing agency environment, refine your ability to tie communications strategy to hard business metrics, and grow as a strategic leader who mentors teams, shapes service offerings, and contributes to thought leadership that elevates Directive’s market position.

- • Serve as a subject matter expert across all three practice areas. You set the standard of excellence and champion your team.
- • Manage the division P&L, including revenue targets, staffing models, utilization, and margin
- • Serve as the senior exec sponsor on communications accounts, delivering strategic counsel to C-suite and senior marketing stakeholders, as a point of escalation
- • Interface with the Head of Client Strategy to ensure service lines work seamlessly together.
- • Build, manage, and develop a team of communications professionals by hiring, onboarding, coaching, and holding them to a high bar
- • Create and enforce quality standards and delivery frameworks that produce consistently excellent client work
- • Develop integrated communications strategies for B2B clients across earned, shared, and owned channels
- • Cultivate and maintain strong media relationships across trade, business, and tech press
- • Lead B2B influencer strategy, identifying the right voices — from analysts to industry creators — to amplify client narratives
- • Oversee organic social strategy as an extension of communications, ensuring your team maintains brand voice consistency and audience engagement
- • Assist in driving new business development: act as a subject matter expert from operations on client proposals in partnership with the Managing Director and Growth team.
- • Identify and execute cross-sell opportunities in partnership with Directive's other service lines.
- • Establish KPIs and reporting frameworks that tie communications programs to real business outcomes
- • Contribute thought leadership internally and externally to establish Directive's communications practice in the market
- • Recruit, develop, and retain top communications talent
🎯 Requirements
- • 10+ years of experience in communications and PR, with proven expertise in B2B sectors
- • Agency experience is required, including managing P&L, staffing models, utilization, and margin for a communications or PR practice
- • Deep expertise across PR, media relations, influencer strategy (including analysts, thought leaders, and emerging creators), and organic social as part of an integrated communications program
- • Strong media relationships and a track record of earning meaningful coverage in trade, business, and tech press for B2B clients
- • Demonstrated success managing and growing enterprise B2B client accounts, tying communications strategy to measurable outcomes like brand awareness, share of voice, pipeline influence, and revenue
- • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to translate complex B2B narratives into compelling stories
- • Familiarity with AI tools and their impact on media targeting, content creation, and measurement
- • Willingness to travel to visit clients on an as-needed basis
