📋 Description
- • As the Head of Sales for the UK market, you will be instrumental in leading and scaling our dynamic telesales organisation, which operates across our London, Bournemouth, Winnersh, and Porto offices. This pivotal role is at the very core of our Sell-My-Car business, entrusting you with the responsibility of overseeing the dedicated team that expertly brokers the sale of customer vehicles to our extensive and trusted dealer network through our highly efficient daily online auctions.
- • Your team will serve as the primary point of contact for both vehicle sellers and potential buyers, expertly navigating negotiations to ensure vehicles are accurately positioned and matched with the most suitable dealers. The ultimate goal is to secure the best possible price for our sellers while guaranteeing a hassle-free selling experience. Simultaneously, you will ensure our valued dealer partners benefit from a convenient, efficient, and highly effective stock sourcing platform.
- • With over 1,000 vehicles listed daily, your sales organisation plays an absolutely critical role in driving sales conversion rates and delivering on our ambitious revenue targets, which are projected to exceed £4 million per month by 2026. This is a high-impact role where your leadership will directly influence financial performance and operational success.
- • As the Head of Sales, you will directly manage our Sales Team Leaders, taking full ownership of the execution of our end-to-end sales strategy. You will be accountable for the overall performance, productivity, and commercial output of our sales operations. This involves a continuous drive to identify opportunities for process optimisation, enhance overall sales effectiveness, and empower your team to achieve and exceed their potential.
- • This is a senior leadership position within the Sell-My-Car business, requiring you to manage other people leaders and foster strong, collaborative relationships with cross-functional peers across our Fulfilment, Product, Marketing, and Commercial teams. Your strategic insight and leadership will directly influence key business decisions, help shape our long-term strategic plans, and significantly contribute to achieving our overarching growth ambitions for the Carwow Group.
- • You will be responsible for leading the Sell-My-Car telesales organisation, taking complete ownership of sales conversion targets, revenue delivery, and the overall sales performance of the team. This includes executing and continuously refining sales strategies to meet daily trading targets, and elevating processes and operations to maximise productivity and revenue per Full-Time Equivalent (FTE).
- • Setting clear performance expectations for the team, distributing team targets that are meticulously aligned with overarching business goals, and overseeing team-wide metrics are crucial to driving focus and accountability. You will manage the full sales pipeline, ensuring optimal workload balance, effective opportunity management, and strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) through your Sales Team Leaders.
- • Proactively identifying risks to the plan, escalating them appropriately to senior leadership, and driving robust mitigation actions will be a key part of your role. You will ensure that robust structures, stringent quality controls, and high standards are consistently in place across all sales interactions to protect and enhance the customer experience for both consumers and our valuable dealer partners.
- • Championing improvements to our systems, tooling, and sales enablement processes is essential. You will partner cross-functionally to prioritise initiatives that offer the highest impact on sales performance and customer satisfaction. Overseeing and signing off on rota planning to ensure consistent coverage and readiness to meet volume demands year-round is also a critical responsibility.
- • Driving a culture of continuous improvement, identifying operational inefficiencies, and implementing enhancements that lift productivity and service quality will be paramount. You will lead, coach, and mentor your Sales Team Leaders, empowering them to develop high-performing teams and maintain a strong performance culture within their respective areas.
- • Overseeing recruitment, training, and onboarding frameworks to ensure new hires are equipped to ramp up quickly and achieve success is vital. Conducting regular team and leadership meetings to align on updates, share best practices, and proactively address challenges will foster a cohesive and effective sales organisation.
- • Fostering an engaged, collaborative, and high-trust team environment built on open communication, unwavering accountability, and mutual respect is a cornerstone of this role. You will represent the Sales function within the Sell-My-Car senior leadership team, owning weekly performance reporting, providing strategic updates, and outlining forward plans.
- • Collaborating closely with Fulfilment, Product, Marketing, and Commercial stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination and unified delivery across the entire customer journey is key. You will handle high-priority escalations and resolve complex seller issues, safeguarding customer satisfaction and the overall brand reputation. Contributing to the creation and execution of broader business initiatives that enhance the seller experience and support long-term growth will be a significant part of your contribution.

- • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and coaching skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- • Solid understanding of how to define a sales process to align with customer journeys and product roadmaps, including mapping necessary requirements across sales enablement, systems, processes, and goal setting.
- • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify trends, analyze data, and implement effective solutions in line with senior leadership strategies.
- • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, contributing to a positive and collaborative work environment.
