  • • As the Head of Startups Go-To-Market (GTM) for the APAC region, you will be instrumental in shaping and executing OpenAI's strategy for engaging and empowering the vibrant startup ecosystem across Asia-Pacific. This pivotal leadership role is designed for an individual with a profound understanding of sales leadership, a deep appreciation for cutting-edge AI technologies, and the agility to thrive in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.
  • • Your primary responsibility will be to drive the overall sales strategy for our API developer platform, focusing specifically on the critical startup segment within APAC. This involves not only setting the strategic direction but also actively recruiting, mentoring, and leading a high-performing team of API sales professionals and Venture Capital (VC) Partnerships Leads. Your success will be measured by your team's ability to achieve ambitious deployment and revenue targets, fostering widespread adoption of OpenAI's transformative AI products.
  • • You will be at the forefront of customer acquisition, meticulously managing key accounts, and cultivating executive-level relationships. This requires a strategic approach to understanding customer needs, identifying opportunities for AI integration, and demonstrating the tangible value our platform can deliver to their businesses. You will act as a trusted advisor, guiding startups through the complexities of AI adoption and helping them leverage our technology to enhance their internal productivity and achieve their strategic objectives.
  • • A significant aspect of this role involves partnering closely with our Solutions teams to architect and implement complex customer programs and projects. This collaborative effort ensures that we are not just selling a product, but delivering comprehensive solutions that address the unique challenges and aspirations of our startup clients. You will be responsible for managing consumption revenue forecasts, providing accurate and timely insights into sales performance and pipeline health.
  • • Staying ahead of the curve is paramount. You will closely monitor the industry landscape, including emerging trends, competitor activities, and potential partnership opportunities. This intelligence gathering is crucial for informing our product roadmap and contributing to broader corporate strategies. Your insights will help shape the future direction of OpenAI's offerings and market approach.
  • • Beyond direct sales responsibilities, you will play a key role in the growth and development of our team and company culture. This includes supporting the recruitment and onboarding of new team members, ensuring they are set up for success and integrated seamlessly into our dynamic environment. You will also actively contribute to fostering a positive, collaborative, and innovative company culture, embodying OpenAI's values and mission.
  • • You will be expected to lead high-visibility customer events, such as advisory boards, industry conferences, and product launch events, representing OpenAI and engaging with key stakeholders. This requires strong communication and presentation skills, as well as the ability to articulate our vision and value proposition effectively.
  • • The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record in designing and executing complex deal strategies, particularly within the platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and software-as-a-service (SaaS) domains, ideally within a product-led growth (PLG) company. Experience supporting the growth of fast-scaling, high-performance organizations is essential.
  • • This role demands a customer-centric mindset, a genuine passion for or deep curiosity in artificial intelligence, and a proactive, 'builder' mentality. You should be energized by new challenges, comfortable navigating ambiguity, and adept at developing innovative solutions to complex problems. Your strategic thinking will be critical in raising the bar for our GTM organization and planning for long-term success.
  • • Based in Singapore, you will operate within a hybrid work model, spending three days per week in the office, fostering collaboration and team cohesion. Relocation assistance is available for successful candidates joining us from abroad.

🎯 Requirements

  • • 8+ years of progressive experience in leading Enterprise Sales teams, with a demonstrable track record of exceeding targets and building high-performing sales organizations.
  • • Proven experience selling platform-as-a-service (PaaS) and/or software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions, preferably within a product-led growth (PLG) company, with a strong understanding of developer ecosystems.
  • • Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and manage complex deal strategies, including navigating multi-stakeholder environments and closing significant enterprise agreements.
  • • Experience supporting the rapid growth and scaling of fast-growing, high-performance companies, understanding the unique challenges and opportunities of hyper-growth environments.
  • • Strong experience in gathering, distilling, and processing complex market intelligence, including industry trends, competitor landscapes, and customer/prospect insights, to inform strategic decision-making.
  • • Proven leadership capabilities in recruiting, mentoring, and developing sales teams, fostering a culture of high performance, collaboration, and continuous learning.

🏖️ Benefits

  • • Competitive salary and equity package, reflecting the seniority and impact of the role.
  • • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents.
  • • Generous paid time off (PTO) policy, including vacation, sick leave, and public holidays.
  • • Relocation assistance to support your move to Singapore.
  • • Opportunities for professional development and continuous learning, including access to training, conferences, and educational resources.
  • • A dynamic and collaborative work environment at the forefront of AI innovation, with the chance to shape the future of technology.
