📋 Description

• Support high-value, complex, or competitive new business opportunities in partnership with Solutions Specialists to drive discipline-specific sales targets in Higher Education.
• Lead advanced discovery sessions, solution consulting, and tailored product demonstrations for faculty and institutions using Cengage platforms such as MindTap and WebAssign.
• Translate institutional and instructional needs into compelling solution narratives that highlight Cengage’s digital and pedagogical value proposition.
• Maintain deep expertise in assigned academic discipline (Science, Social Science, Humanities, or Business), including current pedagogical trends, curriculum frameworks, and teaching practices.
• Demonstrate advanced digital proficiency with Cengage’s educational platforms, including feature mastery, integrations, and use cases to guide customer adoption.
• Serve as a national subject matter expert and lead presenter at conferences, academic events, webinars, and regional meetings to elevate Cengage’s market presence.
• Build and nurture relationships with faculty advocates, influencers, and champions within the assigned discipline to strengthen brand credibility and adoption.
• Share structured, actionable customer feedback with Product, Technology, and Marketing teams to influence product roadmap decisions and enhance solution relevance.
• Partner with Customer Success and Product teams to support pilot programs, beta testing, and solution refinement initiatives.
• Contribute to scalable sales enablement assets including demo scripts, competitive positioning frameworks, and discipline-specific training materials.
• Mentor and coach Solutions Specialists and Account Directors on discipline-specific insights, demo best practices, and competitive differentiation strategies.
• Collaborate closely with Sales, Customer Success, Product, Technology, and Marketing teams to align national discipline strategy and optimize sales motion effectiveness.
• Travel nationally up to 50% to support high-impact customer engagements, conferences, and strategic events.
• Drive digital adoption and improve win rates by positioning Cengage Unlimited and Cengage Unlimited for Institutions as strategic solutions for institutions and faculty.
• Act as an internal advisor to field teams on discipline-specific opportunities, challenges, and emerging trends in higher education.
• Represent Cengage as a thought leader through high-impact presentations that reinforce the company’s leadership in instructional technology and digital learning.

🎯 Requirements

• Deep expertise within the assigned academic discipline (Science, Social Science, Humanities, or Business) OR at least 5–7 years of experience in EdTech, higher education, curriculum, or related fields.
• Successful customer-facing experience with a proven track record in sales, pre-sales, consultative selling, or solution development.
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a results-focused environment and meaningfully support attainment of discipline-level sales targets.
• Exceptional presentation skills with the ability to persuade, educate, and inspire diverse academic audiences.
• High degree of digital fluency; comfortable demonstrating platforms, walking through technical workflows, and simplifying complex concepts.
• Ability to travel nationally up to 50% for high-impact opportunities and events.
